Be super thrifty and save the gift bags other people give you at birthdays etc - I know this will be a tried and tested practise but here is the twist
if the bag can't be reused cut the bag up into usable pieces for matting and layering onto card bases and even the tiniest pieces make gift tags etc
If chopping them up keep the handles, if it's the string type I reuse it and make into other gift bags or as I have done in the past make tiny gift bags with off cut pieces of material.
Also i use the ribbon off dresses etc for the handles on mini home made gift bags.

Oh forgot.
When I empty the dehumidifier - as you apparently can't use it for plants (some web site say you can but I'd rather not risk it) which is a waste - so I either use it for the car or pour it down the loo.“You’re only here for a short visit.

Before going through the security at the airport, I always make sure to have an empty water bottle. After going through the checkpoint, I just fill refill the bottle at a water fountain.2

I use the vegetable bags which you put your bananas etc in at SM to dispose of nappies and sanitary products instead of nappy sacks, if a bit thin, use 2. For gardening just look on UTube and see loads of ideas for toilet roll middles, plastic bottles etc.0

I freeze grated cheese & take a handful out when I need it.
I freeze YS fruit cut up to put in smoothies.
I take the offcuts from a gammon & freeze them in chunks to put in quiches.
I buy YS puff pastry (my local Co-op often reduces it to 15-20p), freeze it & use it to make quiches & apple strudel when I have apples to use up.
I buy garlic & ginger in bulk or when it’s reduced, stick it in a blender & freeze it in ice cube trays with a bit of water then decant the cubes into bags. I use them in everything from bolognese sauce to curries.
Odd ends of feta & pieces of past-best butternut squash get frozen to use in quiches.
Bread that’s gone hard gets used to mop up grease from grilled sausages/bacon/black pudding & fed to the birds - saves fat going down the plug hole & uses it up!“I want to be a glow worm, A glow worm's never glum'Coz how can you be grumpy, when the sun shines out your bum?" ~ Dr A. When out at a restaurant I asked for my elderflower drink bottle with its cap still on. I collected eight bottles. The other week I picked some elderflower heads from a tree and made some cordial. I bottled it up into my recycled bottles. Costed the cordial out at a quarter of the price that it would have cost me if I bought the same quantity. Have frozen most of the bottles (left space for expansion of cordial so it won't break). It lasts six weeks fresh.2025 Fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons

A little research online seems to indicate an annual electricty use in the £6-£10 range for your router. Mine's on 24/7/365 as recommended by my ISP as on/ off can slow your line speeds.
My electricity consumption for the previous 12 months works out at 1.6 kWH per 24 hrs, which is 55p a day on my tariff, with half of that being standing charge.
On balance of my personal lifestyle, I would think that running 1-2 fewer washloads per month, or opening the fridge and freezer doors less frequently and for shorter periods of time, might well be more MSE than fiddling around with the router. But we all have different lifestyles and your mileage may vary, as the Americans say.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.
