it wasnt hear say. I was present when she was refused.
if you notice though i didnt say getting a pass was impossible, just passing on something that happened where i live
We like to deal with facts here, your little anecdotes can be very misleading. If you want to read more about the concessionary travel pass there is information on the Direct website, or more detailed guidance on the DFT website.Gone ... or have I?0

There are many local concessions for disabled people and their carers. The carer may get a free ticket.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

Merseytravel don't give a pass to carers, and they give every applicant a medical - my son's is at the end of May, four months after the application first went in. It didn't mention a carers pass on their website, so I rang up to ask - it's always worth a try!0

What a waste of time and money. I can understand them giving some people medicals - but everyone?Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

I agree - I even questioned it, as my son clearly fits their criteria. He has a learning disability, which is one of the qualifying conditions for a disabled person's bus pass. He is also receiving HRC and HRM (he has complex needs, not just the LD), but even a copy of the award wasn't sufficient. I hope that they have allowed long enough for the medical.....0

As kingfisherblue says everyone is Merseyside has to pass a medical. I have HDLC and HDLAM and an indefinite Blue Badge, bur still had to have a medical.
The doctor i saw was lovely and said he couldn't understand why my DLA wasn't indefinite and he also did DLA Medicals. So am trying for the indefinite DLA, up to 12 Weeks wait now at the re-assessment stage. Even though they can get all the info from my GP,they insists on trying all my hospital specialists first and have to pay more money to more people. My GP told me what the costs for a report are, more from a hospital than a GP such a waste of money when one report, with all the consultants information would do.0
