What is your problem? I can't understand why you're having a go. What is hard to understand about the quote

Do not allow other people to use your badge to do something on your behalf such as shopping or collecting something for you, unless you are travelling with them.

I'm talking morally here. I defy you to justify why your able bodied husband could not have parked in a regular space, when only he was getting out of the car? Why did he need to park in a disabled space?

If the rules permit this, then they should be changed.

Don't worry about elvis86, he seems to go round threads picking arguments. I am sure he will not be around for long. It won't be the first time he has been banned! ;)

End of thread now - no more insults!

Again, please refrain from attempting to slur my character. I have not insulted anybody here.

The OP has not asked for a discussion on the morals of the subject. She has been accused of a criminal offence, and wants to know what her legal rights are.

    One thing I dont understand.

How did he know whose Blue Badge it was?

There is nothing on the badges that I have seen to indicate whether the holder is male or female.
I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.

Many people misuse badges (I've heard of a guy who uses his nans badge to park when he's at work) and these are the serious offenders.

I would remove your post where you say this, you appear to be suggesting that you did abuse the system and can justify it because everyone else does.

I work with a charity and we have insufficient spaces for blue badge holders and if someone comes to us even with their partner (who holds the card) in the car we would ask them to move to a standard parking space unless the person with disabilities needed to get out of the car.Obviously if the person with disabilities needed to gte out of the car then they are parked appropriately.

It is not uncommon for a couple to come to drop off some papers or to collect something, the able bodied person get out of the car and come into the building and another disabled person arriving on their own being left unable to park. However we always do it tactfully, a polite request of 'would you mind just parking further away as we are expecting someone who needs that space to access their frame or chair' and we rarely have problems. However we have always understood that they were within their rights to refuse to move as the blue badge was being used appropriately.

Our users are usually great and we often have someone parking a little way away because they are having a good day and want to leave the blue badge spaces for someone in more need.

Agreed. The rules may seemingly permit what the OP's husband did, but by thinking of others and doing what is morally right, you can make it easier for fellow blue badge users.

Doesn't the serial number on the badge tell you? Can't remember though - I think I read somewhere that "m" = male & "f" = female?
