I got this letter this morning - they are however putting up the cost of most calls, changing the free times to 7pm to 7am and you are tied into a new 12 month contract:
http://www.sky.com/shop/terms-conditions/talk/code-of-practice/tariff-guide/
I wonder if this has anything to do with the recent reduction in termination rates (which should be reducing the cost of calls) ?
[EDIT: Also noticed this...]
Indirect Access Calls
From 1 July Sky Talk Customers on the Sky Voice and Broadband Network will no longer be able to make calls using a prefix number to access a different telephony provider (known as Indirect Access Calls).
Thanks

You are wrong of course.
If you are an Everyday customer and don't take Sky Talk then the cost is going up by £2.50/month.That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
At the moment i am on sky broadband unlimited without sky talk so i am paying £15 a month.
But if i agree to a 12 month contract i will only have to pay £12.50 a month.0 -
However as I'm on Everyday I'll have to pay £2.50/month more.
Unless I move on of course. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
i'm on the everday tariff at the moment, £5 per month for the max speed of 1mb possible on my line (if i'm lucky) & i don't go anywhere near the limit of 10gb per month - so £2.50 extra per month for nothing!
i know i could go elsewhere, but i'm sure it would still end up costing at least the same (if not more), plus the hassle of switching, so i'll shut up & stay with sky... 1 - 0 to sky, again!0 -

well spotted on the times changing, i hadn't noticed that! pretty sure i'd notice a difference in the july bill & whould have been straight on the phone making myself look daft0 -
Note it says withdrawing for new customers:
'We're withdrawing Sky Broadband Everyday for new customers from 1 June.'
Does this mean existing customers are okay? Probably not
I'm currently on unlimited having got sucked in when I first got it. My first year is almost up and I was planning to downgrade to everyday but this seems to have scuppered my plans. I don't really want to stick with unlimited as I don't use it loads. If I went for the lite package what can I realistically expect from it? I use Skype once a week for about 1.5 hours (not video, just audio) and browse around for an hour or so most evenings. Would this cover me?
Thanks for any advice. - Just because I love this emoticon!0
