If you have a current Sky subscription, you can watch the on demand programmes on the Sky Player now.
To watch live programmes, you need to have multiroom or Sky Broadband.
Saying that, Sky are running a month of live viewing to non multiroom/broadband subscribers. From the 13 April to 14 June 2010, if you're a Sky TV customer you can watch live TV on Sky Player in line with your Sky TV subscription for free.† (Normally only available to Sky Customers who also subscribe to Sky Multiroom (£10/€15 a month), Sky Broadband Unlimited (£10 - €15 a month) or Sky Player Multiroom (£10/€15 a month). Sky Movies subscribers can already watch live Sky Movies in line with their subscription for free.)
And yes, it's just like watching TV on the computer. It's similar to the BBC's iPlayer, C4oD, ITV Player, FIVE OD, etc.Dave. :wave:0 -

I suppose it'll return to what it was previously, as you say, package dependent.
The Xbox deal is for those without any Sky subscription.
If you have a current Sky sub and Xbox Live Gold you can watch Sky player on your Xbox now.Dave. :wave:0 -
how do you cancel sky player i need to know before june0
-
You don't have to cancel it. After June 14th when you log in to use it it will know what packages you pay for and will not allow you to watch (for instance) live sport if you haven't got Multiroom or B/Band.0

Sky player is free to existing sky customers and is like watching tv on your computer/laptop but there is a 10 second delay i think0

Yes, you would have to pay for either Sky B/Band or multiroom. AFAIK you can't pay for unlimited access via Sky player itself.0

You need Sky broadband or multiroom if you want to watch live stuff.
As long as you've got a subscription, you can watch the on-demand content to the level of your sub, unless of course they're planning to change it.Dave. :wave:0
