Leaving Sky will dish still work as aerial?

Hi,
We've been with Sky for nearly a year and had a phone call saying we now have to pay £8.90 a month for insurance if something were to go wrong with box or dish. Also our free HD will end, another £10 a month. We also have phone and broadband so will be paying nearly £50 a month which I feel is a bit steep. If we were to cancel Sky tv would the dish still act as an aerial if we got a freesat box? Hope someone can help! TIA

Yeh, I'm going to look around for phone and broadband deals, might go back to talktalk.0 -
The dish and sky box will continue to work you don't need to buy a freesat box or card. If you pull the card out you will see what channels you will get.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

If you pull the card out, I think you'll find the box will no longer de-crypt "Channel 4 HD" ?
Which, I've been assured, it will do if you leave the card in after you've cancelled Sky.
Don't laugh at banana republics. :rotfl:
As a result of how you voted in the last three General Elections,
you'd now be better off living in one.
