    Morning all,

D'you know, I'm not sure I can do this, I don't want a drink right now (honest!), but I suppose what I want is the "security blanket" of knowing I can have one later. I keep lecturing myself that of course I can have a drink later - as much as I like! - but do I want to? At the mo, the answer to that is yes, but I'm going to spend the morning working on that. Didn't buy a bottle alongside the morning paper as I often do.

Last night, having said I was off to watch Corrie at 7.30, I promptly fell asleep until.........11.30!! Went straight to bed no more to drink so feel pretty chipper physically today - it was a sad waste of an evening but at least it thwarted my plan to open the next bottle.....

I just feel really churned up about the OH "situation" - he says je doesn't want us to finish but we seem unable to spend any time together without him losing his temper at me over something / anything I've said. I want to talk about it but am afraid I'll make things worse.

And a bottle or 2 of wine will help how?? Off to argue with me.

    Anyhoo,

Sorry to hear of your probs and struggle WB. smiley-hug008.gif

Dont have the magic answer but deep inside the answer will be found. Just a matter of when and how. Same for me that is why I am a cutter downer and not a quitter ATM.

WB - don't really have answers either except perhaps you could try relate or something like that. When I stopped drinking I did promise myself that I can drink tomorrow but as we all know tomorrow really never comes. It seemed to help for me.

maman - yes I have been in Devizes but not with the boat. One day when ex had DD, I and BF took the dogs for a walk by the canal and then went for a lunch and snoop around the town.

Better pretend that I am working :o ...

    Morning.

I'm going to stay alcohol free on weekdays for the whole of May. I realise this is a bit of a cop out but on weekends after a hard week at work and my 2nd job in a mate pub kitchen on sundays, I feel I have earned myself a drink.

This bank holiday weekend I was good though and didn't overdo things despite some unwanted events such as bumping into my ex, having an extremely stressful shift in the pub kitchen on sunday and then generally feeling quite lonely and bored yesterday, not to mention that all of my friends were seemingly hell bent on have a marathon drink session all weekend.

I'm playing football this evening which is always a good way to clear the cobwebs. My full time job is also very busy these days so that's good for keeping my mind off things and I treated myself to a new stereo and record player at the weekend(bargain price of £30 from a charity shop) so I can now listen to my records again after having sorted them all out yesterday whilst feeling glum(it was very therapeutic in the end).

Hopefully by staying sober during the week, I can even give it a go at the weekends. This last month has been ridiculous, the warm weather providing an all too easy excuse to go for a pint after work which then turns into 3 etc..

It wasn't even fun. That alone is sufficient motivation to cut it out.

    fingers crossed.
    jusqu'ici tout va bien

I didn't finish my last post! Meant to say...

Anyhoo, at least I'm having a good hair day :D:D it's always chancey with my mullet.

Whatever happens today (the vibes aren't good....) I'll be facing the music tomorrow as I have a doctors appt to discuss the "womens things" blood test I had a week ago.....even if the results of the thrown-in-for-free GGT (don't even know what that is! - better than an LFT the nurse said) are OK (fat chance) he's likely to ask why I wanted it checked in the first place so a conversation will doubtless ensue......
