Gien - hope you are feeling better

We had fantastic trip. Slipped mooring at nine on Saturday morning, after 14 locks stopped for lunch and then carried on for awhile. Just got to our over night mooring spot before it started raining. Torrential rain through the night was keeping me awake but did manage to get some sleep eventually - got up early and while BF was looking after DD I nipped out for 6 mile run. :) Then after I had had my breakfast had a stroll with dogs - went to have lunch at carvery (nom, nom), took boat back to the top of the locks we had done previous day, stopped there for night and then this morning leasurly came back. We always managed to avoid the rain while moving.

I am tired so better head to bed shortly.

Oh - can I please have 3 days DB and thank you for taking the baton!!!

Evening. Declaring one for the challenge and 2 in total.

HB you come across as a lovely person in your posts, always looking out for others. You are lucky to have nice nails. Mine are horrid and my hands look like they belong to a sixty year old!

Winebox, sorry you are feeling sooo bad (((hugs))).

I asked my DH what 3 physical attributes he liked about me and I can't repeat the x-rated version!:D

Lucky that Lurky, YM et al aren't around otherwise we'd have an x-rated version for HB too. We've heard about the nails but what are the other two bits:o

So who are people voting for? (If people are comfortable with revealing their votes.) I'm voting Labour.

Tactical Lib Dem voting here to keep Tories out. Very marginal seat.

Have you been to Devizes marru?

I've not made a good start to May (Merry-wise that is).

Stupidly, admitting that I'm struggling :o

For me, it's admitting that alcohol has that hold on me that makes me deal with it. Have no idea if that makes sense
Anyhoo, feel better for saying it & will (hopefully) get through the night ok :D

Makes perfect sense to me HB.
Speaking for myself, I ignored my alcoholism for a long time. It wasn't just the drinking, but the way I felt about myself (big ego, low self-esteem, anxiety, confidence issues) as well.

Admitting I had a problem was the first stage. The next was accepting I had an issue, and that I needed to do something about it.
The thought of not drinking was terrifying (as I think it is for all alcoholics) but I learnt that I only need to not drink for 24 hrs at a time.

If you find you are not getting where you wanted to be when you joined this thread, you may want to try other things in addition to posting here. In other areas of our lives, if something doesn't work we look for alternatives. There is no reason why cutting down/giving up need be any different.
