Have a great day

PS Sorry to read your sad news Sim.What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.0 -
Sim, I am so saddened to hear your news (((())))DFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0

Has anyone else noticed the planets seem to be in a strange alignment or some thing, I went to the corner shop after work today for some milk. The chap started to go on about the wine they have got in. I said that I wasn't going to buy any today thanks, and he took real umbridge at this and started ranting about people getting stuff from supermarkets. I did always used to get wine from him so I dont know what he was taking about there. As I left with my 2 pints of milk he came running after me with a bottle of wine telling me to take it by way of an apology and went back in the shop. So I'm standing there in the rain with a free bottle of wine that I didnt want and an not going to drink........What is going on..
This made me giggle. A similar thing happened to me when I wrestled with a Indian take away delivery bloke on the doorstep when he was forcing me to take a free bottle of wine (I would've preferred popadums ), I did take it and used the whole thing in a bourginion! People do love to force alcohol on you, it's like the shop over the road that sells 6 cans for a fiver or £1.19 each, I only wanted 4 which would be £4.76 but he insisted on giving me 6 for the same price as I'm a regular customer and I was 'wasting' my money. Problem is, I knew that if I had 6, I'd drink 6 and regularly did. I told him this but he said, yeah but it's better than wasting money :undecidedDFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0 -
Best wishes Sim. thoughts are with you, fella
Nothing to report here
Why do people pay good money to go to stuff and then proceed to chat and text their mates throughout?!!! Twice in the last week it has happened and I'm fed up with it! Trying to listen to the performer and some idiot is having some inane conversation, not paying any attention and spoiling it for those around them!! Me, mainly....

Good morning,
Thanks for all your support yesterday, I had my second AF day. After 40 years or so of heavy drinking, quite a result for me.
Went into the local Coop yesterday a.m. they were promoting Bells whisky £12, Gordons gin and Smirnof vodka £11 Grrr. Won,t go there again too tempting.
Spent some time reviewing my finances yesterday. No debts but I was shocked to see the pathetic interest I was earning on my modest savings. 0.01% with Lloyds and Barclays. I have decided to transfer to a C&G cash isa at 2.7% and watch rate changes like a hawk. Am also considering a LLoyds Vantage account but I think £5K is needed - might take a while. I have not done this before due to apathy. Much too busy planning days drinking activities.
Anyway, good luck to you all on achieving today's target whatever it is. Mine is AF day number 3.
Thanks again for your support this is a smashing site.
Sim I take my hat off to you. You are an inspiration and have shown it can be done. Very sorry to hear about your friend.

Morning all
Getting on early whilst piglet still asleep. Little toerag would not go to sleep last night - ended up going to bed at 10pm, same as us. I wonder if its the heat bothering him. Just wish we could have a bloody good storm and clear the air.
Randomname - yay for the 2nd day!:T Well done you. I admit, I always find special offers on booze far too tempting. I'm a wine drinker so all the 3 for £10's usually nobbled me. Mind you they seem to have gone up to £12 now which puts me off slightly, thank god!
Lurks - know what you mean by the phone/talking/texting thing. Some young lads in front of us at the cinema the other night kept texting so me and my mate kept getting bright flashes distracting us as thier texts came in. My mate, never one to mince her word, threatened to put the phones somewhere where they wouldn't be able to SEE the texts come in . They stopped then:rotfl:(my mate isn't big but does have the air of someone slightly demented about her!!:rotfl::rotfl:)
Plans today.....umm...not sure yet. WAS going to go to my SILs and do my Mrs Mop thing. Mum was going to come with me and help so I wasn't on my foot too long. Haven't done Mrs mop since I broke my foot so need the money! I text SIL MOnday to let her know I'd be coming. Didn't hear anything so text her last night to remind her and had text back to say sorry she'd forgot to text me but not to worry coming as my brother had cleaned as SIL was hosting the book club. Don't get me wrong, I love them to bits, but they seem very wound up in thier own lives lately. My brother even left my nans 90th birthday party early to watch the football! We were only holding the party that day as he was actually away on holiday ON her birthday!!! Grrr!!
See Maman, I do moan a lot lol!!!!:rotfl::rotfl:
