Hi everyone
I don't know if any of you remember me, I posted for a while at the end of last year beginning of this. From time to time I still lurk but I thought I would post today because I know I sometimes wonder what people who used to post but no longer do so are doing now so I thought some of you might me interested to hear what my life has been like. The first thing to say is that I am 103 days sober (April Fools' Day has a very special significance to me now!)
Basically my personal life went 'pearshaped' earlier this year. My husband told me he could no longer live with me the way things were, i.e my drinking, mood swings and irrational behaviour. "Fine" I said "p**s off" and to my amazement he did. I thought I was fine, I even thought it was probably for the best, we hadn't really been getting on for a number of reasons alcohol only one. I continued with my life and my drinking just increased. Whereas it had never affected my work life, my manager called me in for a 'chat' to say a colleague had reported smelling alcohol on me at 10 oclock in the morning. I hadn't quite got to the point of drinking at that time of the day but I was drinking so much each evening that it was literally oozing out of my pores the next day. I still didn't stop I was just a bit more careful.
Around the middle of March I went out for a 'girls' night out'. At about 11.30 that night my friends all wanted to go home but I didn't so I stayed (apparently I didn't appear drunk so they didn't insist). I don't know how much I subsequently drank or what I did but the next thing I knew I was waking up behind my wheelie bins at about 5am! I was so lucky that somehow that was where I ended up. That was my lbm I disgusted myself. I decided that as from April 1st (don't know why I waited) I would not drink; and I haven't. Still separated from my husband, I don't think that's fixable but maybe.
I guess what I want to say is don't wait until you risk losing everything; I almost did.January AF target 15 days - 6/150 -

But so glad you are ok, though your friends should not have left you, no matter if you seemed ok or not.
