BP, congratulations on getting the job, fantastically well done, you sound so passionate about cooking. What dish did you make for them, was it like masterchef? :rotfl:
Morning!
thanks Jo, I'm really excited! I'm going in to see them tomorrow morning to discuss what shifts I'll be doing and some basic training.
I cooked them a chorizo risotto with sea bass fillet on top. It looks very fancy, tastes delicious but is really quick and easy to make.
In other news, last night I spoke to my friend who declared herself bankrupt and it was a very helpful chat. It really helped to hear her experience of it, she said that in all honesty, it was almost too easy for her and she couldn't quite believed how quickly and amicably it all went. She added that it might have been easier in her case because she had already decided to move to Cardiff and was unemployed so she didn't have anything to lose, but by the same token, seeing as my job won't be at risk if I go BR(I checked with a former employee who worked in HR) and I have no assets of any value, I shouldn't have too much trouble with it myself.
I'll obviously still seek professional advice but it's looking more and more likely that I will need to go down this route. My friend told me that to make it easier with the OR, it would be a good idea(sounds weird) to add some expenses to my living costs such as move to a flat of my own which will inevitably cost more and take up driving lessons.
oddly, these are just 2 of the many things I've wanted to do for ages but haven't even thought about doing because I couldn't afford them after paying my debts, it got to the point where because of the amount I was paying towards my debts, I almost felt like I didn't even deserve to learn how to drive or live on my own..jusqu'ici tout va bien0 -

That sounds absolutely yummy, just like something off masterchef as jo says.....:T
I can't cook but am good at baking:)
TBH after reading all the recent posts i even think i may declare myself BR at a later date as i am struggling a bit with my DMP and i reckon i could go BR. Seems quicker, but i don't know.
Good luck today

 to evryone around!
Had a good sleep when i eventually went to bed...
Had a friend with relationship difficulties ( his girlfriend drinks way too much ) come to see me the back of 11
We had a few coffees and a good chat, he left about 3am
So a rather late night for me!
But up now and off today anyway so it's all good!:)
Hope everyone is fine and dandy and the weather's good
As up here it seems to be getting to the end of summer windy yesterday and today and definately getting a bit chilly!!
Aye the nights are fair drawing in!:D

I can't bake to save my life, it's something I need to learn. The only pudding I can make is chocolate mousse.
Having said that, I'm going to try and make summer pudding this weekend.
good luck with whatever you decide, SSG. I've just come to the realisation that a DMP isn't for me because of serveral reasons, mainly because the amount required each month is far too high, but also because I'm starting to see the DMP more as an option for people who have assets such as their own home or business in which case going BR would not be an option. My credit score, not that I care about it much at this stage, is bound to be damaged for years to come anyway because a lot my debt is old and there are defaults and even successfully getting through a DMP wouldn't guarantee them being wiped off the slate.
mud sticks, so to speak.jusqu'ici tout va bien0 -
BP.
If the free debt charities have advised bankruptcy, then go for it, but.......................
STOP pi$$ing money against the wall.

I don't have any assets this is the thing, but i think there is a stigma to going BR although i know logically it's not. Would be quicker and easier methinks to go BR.
When i originally did the debt remedy on CCCS website that was the original recommendation, but i did a bit of jiggery pokery with the figures in order to get the DMP option. I am now thinking why? Is it a pride thing?
The only asset i have is my car and i would need that to keep that as i work shifts in my job finishing regularly after midnight and later.
The DMP has been ok till this month, when i have car insurance, road tax and MOT all due and it will be a struggle.
However i will stick with it for now, but i am sorely tempted to go with the BR route.....
PS Baking is easy, i love taking stuff into work and seeing everyone munching away saying 'delicious!' gives me a warm glow......:D
Good Luck with the summer pudding i think that's a hard one.....0
