    Hi fed -

Congrats on your gardening, and the healthy lime and soda!

    Hiya 69chick -

You're moderating it at least :-)

    Enjoy your weekend!

I'm feeling a bit nervous, as my ex - Girlfriend is coming over, just to say Hi, and for a cuppa. Strange feeling.. Haven't seen her for a week.

Am looking forward to see her, but am a bit embarrassed about my situation really. She's 10 years younger than me, and she has a good, responsible job etc.

I on the other hand, have no career at all at the moment. Battling a drink problem to boot, and have no money, and no food that I can cook for her :-/

Really miss her. Have nothing to offer her though :-/

    Cheers,

    Sim x

    Made me think..

The 'not drinking' is not that hard.

It's the feelings, fears, and memories underneath, that are tough.

Sim, you're spot on there. It the exposed bit the drinking leaves behind.

Chin up, we'll do it :)
This time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.
    Fingers crossed x

    Good afternoon everyone.

(((Sim))), your ex-girlfriend had(s) her own reasons for liking you which have nothing to do with your job/career/status/money - sometimes we can't understand why we shoule be loved but we are.

You are quite right - so much of our behaviour is tied up with some deep internal emotions and it's really ahrd ot understand where these are coming from at times.

Major result for me this afternoon. I went to an afternoon drinks do, about 20 or so people, not a particularly boozey lot but there was plenty of wine and beer and folk were drinking so I wouldn't have been out of place if I'd had a few glasses. However I stayed on fizzy water all the time, felt great and confident, and now still have enough energy to get some stuff done this evening (must prioritise WHAT to do though). That must be the first 'do' I've been to in ages when Ihave been completely sober (not that I have been rolling drunk at the others but I would always usually have a glass of wine at least).

The fizzy water has made my stomach feel a bit vile though.
    Trying to keep in budget.

Well done gien on the no drinking at the do...I know what you mean about energy, once I have had a drink I am fit for nothing else but vegging on the sofa, did get into a terrible habit of starting to drink most eves at 6pm ish and then that's it, the kids still get sorted but very half heartedly :o anyway one thing I do now is if I do drink I at least wait till the two littluns are asleep (unless it is a family do in the afternoon, but then I am very moderate as I don't like to drink too much if I know I need to get the kids sorted etc....) what a waffle!!

Sim, maybe your feelings about your ex are not clouded by the booze anymore and perhaps you could have a future together! just a thought....hope you have a nice evening anyway...

right off to wash the hair dye off now, its meant to only take 10 mins but I always leave it on much longer...

Have a great eve all xx

Well done Sparkles for being the first to declare a Merry Saturday :)

I've been painting shelves while watching Come Dine With Me. Perhaps
that's why I get so much paint on myself.

Been exposed to about 30 or so bottles of wine so far on CDWM.

Only me for tea tonight so trying to decide what to have.

Anyone else ready to set a target for May?

I'm with Sparkles and DB for a Merry AF Saturday (despite my husband's sad look as he's no-one to share a bottle with).

Hope its a good evening for everyone :)
