Crawls in, nursing my head. Sorry. Didn't stay AF last night. Made it through the first two rounds and then succumbed. Doh.

    Head hurts now.

Hope you all feel better than me this morning!

    Morning,

Am ringing and ringing and ringing the CAB time and time again to book an appointment to discuss bankruptcy with them, I'm rubbish at speaking about these things on the phone so I'd rather start by seeing someone face to face.

I completely agree about not relying on my father to clear my debts. they're MY debts and I accumulated them through my own actions. To be honest, I'd probably feel incredibly guilty if my dad were to bail me out, I'd feel relieved at first but then I'd realise that it wasd through no action of my own and I'd feel bad. Not to mention how the ease of getting out of debt in that manner would probably lead me to temptation and I'd end up getting into debt again.

I need to take drastic action, I thought a DMP would suit me but I'm not sure now, the amount I'd be paying for 2 years seems far too prohibitive. I don't want to be let out of jail scot free, so to speak, but I can honestly say that the DMP's original selling point was to provide a stress free solution that would clear my debts but so far, the DMP has caused me more stress and sleepless nights than the debt itself. I can't commit to it and that's why I need to meet with an expert to discuss all the available options.

Then I'll have a better understanding of what is best for me.

Well done Paolo :T and what ever you decide to do you need to get your SOA uptodate they would need it in CAB as well.

    Congrats! :D

PS - Try and look at it from the banks angle.

They won't be losing sleep over your debts, and no doubt, most of them have sold their debts on to the DCA's / wrote it off / have been covered by their insurance.

I know how stressful it is, especially the PayDay Loan situation.

However, there will be a way out for you, and all of us.

Keep at it with the CAB. I know you said, that you'd be worried about your colleagues seeing you, if you went to the drop in, but so what?

You could be going there for anything!

Your health is far more important, than all of this stress.

    Look after yourself.

    Be well,

    Sim :T

Yep, I;ve been quite organised throughout all of this and I have a spreadsheet which lists all my debts and what action I have taken(token payments, letters etc..), I'm currently writing to each of my creditors to ask them for a letter from them stating the exact situation my debt to them is in, so I should hopefully have a wad of letters to bring with me to the CAB.

Morning all...new month & all that-so going for 15 AF days please! Brokepaulo-glad you got the job! my advice is (as well as obviously getting advice from CCCS/cab and deffo try http://www.debtquestions.co.uk/forum/index.php who is a lifesaver)...go for it with your new job...MOVE asap...then BR...no its not a 'get out of jail free' card & I know this sounds flippant but if your circumstances fit (ie low disposable income left/no assets, etc) IT IS VERY EASY & your life would be back on track. 2 stressfull things only THEN DEBT FREE-1)-Going to the Court (book up NOW even if you don;t proceed yet-there are waiting times-costs nothing to book!)...you probably won't even see a judge..2)-a 2 hour maximum chat with the Official receiver....THATS IT-debts gone! Just remember that during the time of your BR DO NOT increase your income because if you have over £100 a month spare on paper you would pay back some of that for 3 years...
Really don't want to go for a DRO just yet, but it doesn't look like I have another option.

Sim...I quote 'Am still weighing it up, as I'd still like to get back into work, and pay it back gradually / offer F&F's when I'm able to'. Sorry to be blunt...but WHATS to weigh up???! If you do a DRO you are DEBT FREE in 1 year!! Why put yourself through the stress of f&f'S...ETC...IT MIGHT BE MORALLY RIGHT & your pride says do this BUT ITS ONLY MONEY-YOUR HEALTH IS FAR MORE IMPORTANT. If an expert has advised DRO the DO IT!

Sorry to be blunt but I was like this for 3 years prior to BR...pride etc...my life could have been so much better earlier if I'd have listened to the experts & done it!

Enough of the lectures (!!!!!!!!!!!) WELL DONE on your AF...sleeping well is a HUGE bonuse after being AF (will let you know in 2 weeks!).....

I'm also looking at my diet this month-getting my 5 a day & cooking fresh stuff...LOVE cooking!
