Thanks for your concern, but I do not think it is a problem... IMHO.

Anyway, you've told us emailing them doesn't have the desired effect. ;)

Excuse me for asking, but why did you put your phone number on your van?
I would've thought you would be pleased with the extra advertising. :D

Have you actually clicked on the report a problem link on the image. Then you can get it removed. Ours was taken off at our request no problem

But thieves can still walk past your house, or park across the road to eye your place up, even if you get your picture removed.

You're complaining about free advertising, OP?!

Why would thieves trawl google street view to find something to steal? Is it not easier to walk down your street?

The only problem I have with street view is that it's bin day and the drive looks a mess with bins all over it, and if you go up the side road, you can see that I have washing on the line!

So there is a van parked outside your property, how would anyone know that that van belongs there and it was not just there for some work reason? Pictures on Strret View are up to 2 years out of date anyone that uses them for nafarious reasons will be really stupid because any changes could have occured since then (Like the flats that show around my area were flattened last summer and don't exist anymore.)

Lets say you plan to sell your house in a couple of years google streetview will be fairly good for that and to have the picture blocked says (or it would to me) high crime area avoid or pay less.

You going to block the ariel view as well? They can see a lot more from that including what is in your back garden.

By far a bigger problem to your privacy are things like 192.com where people for a fee can obtain just about anything about you including your address who else lives there when you were born when you were married (if you were) when you divorced how many children you have etc etc etc.
I started with nothing and I am proud to say I still have most of it left.

Yes but they can't sit there for hours on end zoom in on entry points etc. I'm not saying it happens but its a possibility

If you look at what google have been up to in Germany there not the benign search tool everyone thinks

    http://www.theregister.co.uk/2010/04/22/google_streetview_logs_wlans/

I don't have concerns that if my house was on streetview that I would be robbed. What worries me more is the creeping collection and cross referencing of personal an public data with very little controls and possible future uses.
