Actually the Legend is the newest of the three.
I would dismiss the hero, its quite old now, the legend is probably the replacement for it. The legend is a very nice device, single piece of aluminium, and the best battery life out of the three but its UI isn't as good as the desire. The desire is basically the nexus one (offical google phone) but running HTC's sense UI stuff which is quite nice.
Personally i am waiting for the nexus one to be available (easily) in our country, it'll get all the updates first and be the best supported. The HTC's rely on HTC releasing the firmware. Oh also the HTC incredible is just round the corner, but that's essentially the desire with a better camera and flash.0 -

I don't think the Incredible will be released here, only in the US. The Desire and the Nexus One are the same phone, only the Desire has some improvements such as an optical trackpad where the Nexus One has a trackball. The Desire also has the Sense UI which is great, and an FM radio. I can't see why you say the Nexus One will get updates first?0 -
I've got the desire and really like it. not used the other two at all I'm afraid but I'm so taken with this one.
There's a thread all about Desire in this forum it's worth a look and has useful links to other forums which chat about it if that helps you? What's fur ye won't go by ye!0 -

Yeh I'd forgotten about that, is a shame the nexus doesn't have that as it's a selling point for me personally. Something else I've just remembered too, multitouch, the nexus currently doesn't have it and the desire and legend do (implemented by HTC). This has changed with the latest update though so the european release will have it.maxtweenie wrote: »I can't see why you say the Nexus One will get updates first?
Basically because it runs the stock android. Without rooting your device you have to wait for HTC to release their firmware if you have a desire/hero/legend etc. Hence why hero users haven't got 2.1 yet with the google maps navigation update, HTC have just pushed back the release to end of June.0 -
you can see the reviews for all the three phones on www.cnet.co.uk the desire is rated best by that website and is the newest of the lot.bubblesmoney :hello:0

II thought the Desire and Legend were launched at the same time. The Legend is more stylish than the Desire but has a slower processor and a smaller screen. The Desire is currently the 'top' HTC phone out of the ones running Android.
The UI on the Legend is pretty much the same as the Desire. It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die0 -
Thanks guys that is everything I wanted to know. Looks like the Desire will be top of my list when I want to replace my Hero then.0
