You can search for registered charities here: http://www.charitycommission.gov.uk/registeredcharities/first.asp

UK registered charity numbers begin with a number not a letter.

I could find nothing from a search for Scottish Help
I live in my own little world. But it's okay. They know me here.

Scottish Help are not a registered charity. The OSCR - Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator has published a report dated 23rd Feb 2007 on their website to that effect.

I had cause to look into this when they visited my area recently. When one of their workers distributed their leaflet through my letterbox, he first tried the handle on my front door to gain entry to the property - unaware whether anyone might be home. Could be a rogue helper they hired but I watched others in their group tramp through neighbours gardens from house to house doing exactly the same. I am filing a report with my local police.

    Thanks Troon.

You haven't kept the leaflet, have you, and would you mind letting me know your area? (I'll understand if you want to keep this anon, though, on a board)
