    my application is being delayed.
credit checking company keep calling me asking for a P60 and pay slip.

    I am slightly annoyed.
Ive paid £100 for this application. Ive filled in the whole form, with all relevant phone numbers and emails and fax numbers of my employer, everything that was asked.

And the credit reference company call everyday saying "we cant get a hold of your employer".

I dont believe them... there are direct landline phone numbers and fax number.
I have spoken to employer telling them that they will be contacted, they said fine.

Can the application FAIL if they "cant get a hold of my employer"?

    shall i sit tight?

Have you looked around this site? You should read:

    and

Re: Broadband contract, I am with Virgin and have an 18 month (or possibly two year) contract, but if I move I could have it transferred to the new owners, or to my new home. Depends on the provider, but usually you will have to commit for at least a year. If you phone and insurance provider you should be able to negotiate coverage for just six months, or get a partial refund after this time if you've paid a year (although you may pay more than half a year as such, due to admin costs).

Both broadband and insurance are yearly, broadband (I think) is a minimum 12 month contract. Can I enqiure as to why you need super-fast broadband....

    thankyou

is contents insurance the same thing as home insurance?
im gonna have a look on quidco to save some money.

My contract is for 6 months (tenancy), so....

i need super fast internet because i live on the internet/computer. I think my area is covered for virgin and all the good options.

i found a one bedroom flat (not studio) so its not studio as thread was started about, but its all still relevant.

Try PlusNet: I have a one year contract for broadband at £6 a month (10GB day, unlimited night) and no contract at all for the landline. IIRC you can switch up and down to unlimited package so if you move house and cannot take the broadband with you ... £6 a month is not a big loss. They didn't charge for connection either, you simply need a dialling tone on the line then test to get it's number - go via a cashback site for some free money. :money: PlusNet customer service is surprisingly good which is more than I could say for Virgin - I have heard complaints from others about that too.

Home insurance can be buildings insurance, contents insurance or both - you obviously only need contents as a tenant. I find that quite hard work to organise as you will need to know the construction of the building and roof!! Flat roofs usually mean you will limit the number of insurers willing to quote online, even if you are not top floor.

Be offer 3 month contracts with a £24 connection fee, you pay a bit more per month though:

    https://www.bethere.co.uk/web/beportal/shorttermcontracts

Their service is always very highly rated too, I would be using them instead of Virgin if I could be sure of getting a good line speed.

thankyou all. This is very complicated.

can i sort out the internet NOW? before ive moved into flat?

thing is, i dont know how the flat is set up, i dont think there is a telephone there.
all i saw were connection sockets for electricity and landline i think.

what do i need to ask the landlord about this aspect?
im guessing the way the flat is set up , dictates what type of internet connection will be available to me?
