I found this plain 18K white gold one from Argos - £170. Seems like a good price??? Is there a difference in quality or are all plain bands or the same K equivalent?

    http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/2031194/c_1/1%7Ccategory_root%7CJewellery+and+watches%7C14416987/c_2/3%7C14416987%7CWedding+and+engagement+jewellery%7C14417340/c_3/4%7Ccat_14417340%7CWedding+rings%7C14417341.htm

Also - if you use Tesco Clubcard vouchers to buy the rings from Goldsmiths... how the heck do you get enough vouchers together?!?!?

I cant recommend Betts Metal Sales enough! If you create an account (select 'hobbies' as your trade) you'll get trade prices. They supply many a high street shop, based in Birmingham and have brilliant customer service!
(Lots of folks on here have used them - do a search!)

    Hels ;)

Yes I bought mine from there but both are a touch to small and now they dont want to return and exchange good value but make sure you have the right size just a word of warning.

PS We both got measured in the shop before ordering they have now said they might resize or replace! not very happy to be honest

  • https://www.bandsoflove.co.uk seem very reasonable. I'm going to get a plain 3mm 18ct white gold band (medium weight) and a 5mm 18ct white gold heavy weight band for h2b. Comes to just £355 in total :)

I take it back about Betts metals I rang again yesterday about our rings and they now said they will return and replace just pay difference whoopie. Turns out the shop we went into did not use wedding ring gages only small ones but again great value

Have you received your rings yet? I was thinknig of the same kind of budget x
  • I looked at many different styles of wedding rings but decided to go with a platinum 2.5mm light-weight flat ring. It is exactly the same style as my engagement ring and was the only one that seemed to 'go' with my engagement ring. That was £300.

My husband got a platinum heavy weight wedding ring with a grove running through it with a mat finish. That was £700. We're not so sure about the mat finish now as just a few months on it's really getting scratched up, despite it being platinum. We'll probably get it polished next time we go to the jewellers instead of re-doing the mat finish.

We got ours from A&S in Hatton Garden.

Here's a picture of our rings.

Out of interest, does anyone know if Wedding Rings tend to be in Sales, and if so, when is the time to look for a bargain?
