I got one hand made by a local jeweller and it was 'only' £400 (White gold band with pattern). It is unique as he designed it specifically for me. Costs for that kind of thing will depend on where you are and what metals/stones you want but might be worth investigating...0

We bought from chapelle as well, looked everywhere but generally it was cheaper than everywhere else by a small margin.
We wanted court style so was easier to compare prices and we wanted platinum so was simply a case of looking at places and writing the prices down for the different sizes, chapelle were cheapest by quite a lot for some places.
also from when we bought (around march) to mid june the prices for the rings had rose by around £150 each ring!0 -
Ours are from Goldsmiths - OH has a plain 9ct band, mine is an 18ct diamond set special order (Goldsmiths only stock the white gold version but I wanted yellow gold which the manufacturer has done). Total cost is just under £1200, but paying with Tesco deals so actual cost is only £3000

I would really love a Clogau Gold wedding ring (it's a rose coloured gold from Wales)
My engagement ring is platinum though...0 -

If you have a platinum engagement ring, I'd suggest gettinga platinum wedding band, too. Platinum is a much tougher metal than gold and will wear it away, so not the best...sure you can find something you love, though0 -

Thanks for the advice - I hadn't considered that.
Will have a thinskie, as I do loke the rose gold...0 -
I would suggest looking into silver rings and cubic zirconia. They are not for everyone but if you wan a ring that will look great and not cost a fortune, it is one way you can go. A lot of people purchase a cz wedding band and then replace it with a diamond later down the road. Just a suggestion.0

Speak to a jeweller, but they will probably say the same as me...rose gold is lovely, but it would eventually get worn away by the platinum.
Could you not treat yourself to another piece of jewellery in rose gold - maybe a pendant, as it could symbolise being close to your heart as it were, so the intention remains intact? Just a thought.
