JSA might be stopped for one week.

I can perhaps empathise with the OP but it is a bit dramatic to suggest that he will lose a week's benefit here. Copies of the bus ticket and timetable (as suggested by onlyfortheboards) will show his case and it is extremely unlikely that there will be any sanction."If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken

they've changed the rules about being later recently.
I know when I've been I've seen the horrible types laughing about being hours and even days late! i presume this is why the rules changed - to give jcp more power over late/missed appointments.
when i was informed of the rule change they did say if your late "more than once" you'd lose your money?
do you have a bus ticket for the day you were late? i'd bundle that in with your form and just explain the bus didnt come/was late - what time you got there for. and if you've never been late before i dont think you should have a problem?0 -

Both yours and LondonDivas posts are stupid.
It's just a pity Jobcentre employees don't get their pay docked whenever they're late.
I'm both saddened and chastened by your eloquence

, I'll take your hint, grab a :coffee: and bow out of the thread so that you don't hijack the OP's original point :silenced:.
Please note that the smilie fest is to show just how much I've taken your wise words on board :kisses3:

Few facts :
1) You had to be there for 9:15
2) You knew bus reliability is a bit rubbish
3) You knew your t&c of the JS agreement.
You were still late.
Chalk it up, don't be late next time.
If the JSA money is that important to you be earlier next time.
Consider it a life lesson, I would have thought after 22 years of working you would appreciate that turning up on time is important. For work, for interviews, and yes, even for the JC.

How far is it to walk?
I'm just thinking that if the bus didn't turn up until 9.10, and presumably it stopped at some other stops to let passengers on and off, but you were in the job centre soon after 9.22, it can't be that far.
I'd also see if there were more reliable bus routes a short walk away.
We've got several ways of getting in and out of town: none of them are fool-proof but one of them is a lot worse than the others!Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

I personally would have gone on an earlier bus and waited around for an hour if that was what it took to be there on time.
That is what you would do if you were going to work (well I would anway).
I used to work with a guy who was always late ''because the bus was always late'.
So, get an earlier one. I appreciate in some places this is not possible, but usually it is, and almost certainly it is possible in Bilston, I know the place well, coming as I do from the other end of Wolverhampton.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0 -

I managed to rush to get to the job centre then for 9.22.I was a few minutes late, I apologised etc, but I could not attend the meeting, 9.15 on the dot you had to be there for.
I was told I had to fill in this form and explain my reasons for not attending this meeting. It will also go against me, and i could have my JSA stopped for a week.
.
I think you're worrying unnecessarily right now, you say yourself the JSA could be stopped. After reading your post, I really would like to think the Jobcentre staff would understand on this occasion (and I'm sure they will) . It's just protocol for them, probably if you're 1min or 1hr late you still have to fill in the forms.
There's no point getting yourself all stressed out about something that might not happen..trust me, been there done that!!0
