Blackberry Help
I bought an unlocked Blackberry 9700 yesterday using the sim card from my other Blackberry 8520 on 02. The phone works great other that I am unable to set up my e-mail account.
When entering all my details user name and password all I get back is an error message saying 'Blank user name,Type in a valid user name'.
Has anyone got any suggestions as to what I should do to overcome this problem.

Do you not have to release the pin from you old one before you use then new one on the same email acc ?
I've not used BB's in while, so that info might be out of date. . .0 -
Has the previous owner had it had it "released" from either the BIS or BES. If it's an ex company phone the previous owner needs to get their companies IT policy removed. You can do it yourself but it's a nightmare to do and I've never done it myself.0

you need to log into your BIS account and release the old BB from that and replace it with your new one
that means putting your Blackberry pin in,thats in your phone and IMEI
thats,Select Options./tools
Select Status, and you will then see an 8-digit alphanumeric ID labeled "PIN:".
IMEI is under it

Have you tried through the desktop manager?
When I changed from my Pearl 8100 to my Curve8900 I opened up the Blackberry desktop manager backed up my old one connected in the new one and it asked if it was change of phone. Just clicked on yes everything was changed over including emails.0 -
