Go into carphonewarehouse and you can take out a contract by just swiping your credit card in the chip and pin. They only ask for ID if you have never bought from them before. If you've as much as bought a SIM only PAYG from them for a fiver they have your details on their systema nd don't require further checks.

BTW it can't be a secured loan because that would be secured on the property and your solicitor would have ensured it was redeemed when you completed and your mortgage registered. It could be a loan that was secured and they allowed to unsecure, but that is unlikely.

When I got my latest mobile contract I didn't have to show bills, bank statements etc. I just had to show bank card and driving licence. They're obviously not as strict as they used to be.

Register yourself and the previous occupants with the Mailing Preference Service and Telephone Preference Service. Consider writing to all three credit reference agencies stating that you are the current owners/ occupants of the address and can they ensure that the previous occupants records are updated with their new address as it has come to your attention that credit is being applied for erroneously. Not sure if that will be effective but may be worth a shot?

Here is one way they could be obtaining a contract phone and also receiving other items of post etc from online.
