I was only asking for advice...My child has a DLA form but I am not filling it out until she has seen her appointed Doctor who will check her for Dyspraxia...She is on the list for councelling for the other stuff. If she doesn't need DLA then we don't want it. I am trying to sort it out the best I can and with family councelling at least I will know how to deal with her behaviour then go from there. Her mental health doctor has seen her several times...if she wasn't a genuine case them wouldnt he have said so??? I only need help until I know whats wrong and how to deal with it.
As soon as I can carry on with my training then I will, until then it is all up in the air!
I know some people take advantage of the system. I know of a single man been claiming and working for years and he has been reported several times but he still does it as far as I know.
Also a single mum claiming for a disability (bad back) and getting a new car out of it but out partying all weekend...she has also been reported but still nothing.0 -
If you were previously getting Incapasity Benefit then you should reclaim that benefit NOT ESA.
You should speak to a Benefits Advisor. You should also look up the ESA Act on the direct Gov website as not all the staff are fully trained up on the correct procedures.
ESA is based on what you can do.
They'll pay a reduced amount for 13 weeks but you can ask to be placed in a "group" until a medical determination is made
- don't let them mess you around.
I had to get my MP involved as the staff who called me re filling in a medical assessment form didn't know how to spell and kept asking me stupid questions about my Cancer treatment.0 -
OP when you send in certificates you can ask the post office to add a recorded signed for sticker to the pre-paid envelope the DSS send out.
Costs 74p for 1st class and can be tracked online for proof of delivery.
I'd also like to thank the mods and remind people that this forum has a report post feature :T0 -

Thank you for that tip I will do that in the future if I need to and thank you to all the replies giving advice which I have followed.
My doctor said JC+ have to pay for the certificates to be re written. Funny how they just went missing. I will be talking to my mp about the situation too. JC+ admitted it was an error on their part.0
