thanks for all the advice about older children and money :)

The inlaw visit was yesterday, and I'm glad it's over now.

after a second baby is it more likely that you have periods again much more quickly and different to after your first baby?

EA another thing you might find useful is to continue perineum massage (if it isn't painful) right through your second PG and TTC time, as you can keep things erm... slacker in that area and minimise perineal trauma for delivery 2.

The other things I'd add from personal experience are consider setting up a downstairs travel cot for Lily's daytime naps so she's really used to that when you're heavily pregnant and she's much heavier to lug upstairs.

Also really work on things which help her be independant in time for baby 2 and in particular if you can really cheer any interest in a sippy cup rather than a bottle (TT bottles are the only source of jealousy between fergie and kes, and I wish I had helped fergie get more into a sippy cup before kessie came :))

Maybe have a think if you can get some help with Lily for a couple of afternoons a week while you are v PG and when baby 2 is very small. It's been a lifesaver here :)

I didn't do it with this pregnancy, i couldn't reach! lol.

Our house is pretty much all on one floor anyway. Only the kitchen, conservty and garden are downstairs :D

I have a sippy cup for 4m+ that i want to try her with. Dont want her to be having bottles when she's older (not that im judging anyone who lets teir older kids have bottles :D)

Just as a passing thought, been reading some ads on Netmums. What would you think about a newly-qualified childminder? There's a few that look close to me, and while it's early days, the vacanies in my area are so far very scarce, so it may be an option we have to explore. I'm generally a trusting person, but DH is not, but all the ads I've seen they have their own children so that instills some confidence I would think.

MFD, that's very useful when I accidentally click on spam!! :T

Aless I think I personally am not bothered how long they've been doing it, it's all about how you feel when you meet them :)

I pray that things uniform-wise changer here by the time the kids are at high school though the 2 that will probably be chosen between have hideous uniforms! one is manky brown and the other is blue - ok for boys but if we get #3 and they're a girl they wear ankle length pleated skirts _pale_ vile!!

Four of the big schools around here have changed over the last couple of years to the long pleated check skirts! They are quite hideous, but I think I prefer them as they are all the same style and length and aren't allowed to be shortened/rolled up.

My Mum said it's to make everyone look the same. Whether you're a size 6 or 16, the skirt makes all look equally dreadful! :rotfl:

:T:T:T Now when I'm reading through and thanking to remind myself where i'm up to, I will be able to fix it when I accidentally thank spam! :o

seems like you have it all covered m'lovely, I shoulda asked you for some tips:)

Aless our CM is newly qualified, but we think this is a bonus as she is very eager to please! I think it makes her a bit more flexible too.

About the trust issue, it hasn't been to tricky because she is a friend of one of our neighbours and the SIL of our other neighbour, so it feels she is somehow safer.

But I figure it's maybe still safer, as she'll only just have been assessed, so any current cncerns would have been raised?
