SS, I cautiously assume that's probably good news? Straightforward problem straightforward solution?

Hi lovely Weezl :) I want magnetic spice-holders now.

    Thanks to adorable picture-posters :D

I hope the meet is going swimmingly for the team!

Somehow, I have been attacked by a small horde of minor financial issues or decisions, all at once. I need to decide or action:

    * pension scheme going to salary sacrifice (small cash gain, loss of flexibility) - accept or opt out I was given the same option but didn't have a chance to discuss it with anyone bc I'm on ML so just went with accept. Will be interested to hear what you do.
    * company healthcare scheme - opt out, single or family cover (gain a grand a year, £600 a year, or nothing)
    * mobile phone contract expired and is suddenly very expensive - renew and haggle, change provider, or go PAYG (move quickly to stop paying £33/month - given I have a work Blackberry I really don't need a lot of power in my personal option). £33 is loads! I pay around £10/month on payg :money:
    * car hire for next week - need to sort today (Avis slightly cheaper but further to go to pick up, Passat more space than a Focus but 60 quid more for the week)
    * Virgin package expiring next month (paying for a phone line I don't want, getting lots of TV but not a lot of use, don't want the hassle of switching to BT, need to reduce the monthly payments though) freeview is plenty tv even for tele addicts like me. I pay £20/month for line, calls and broadband on talktalk.
    * buy a new mouse somewhere today (E broke OH's yesterday) should be easy and cheap as not much difference in them.
    * cancel my stupid dial-up internet account that I never use except for the email address (had the address 15 years, hate to dump it, but stupid to keep paying) have you asked if you can keep the address? My mum kept her ontel address after she changed to talktalk but they are the same company..
    * sort out moving ISA money around into best buy accounts and such... just look on martins list! :money:

I am tired just writing my checklist :( let alone doing any actual work!

    Hello everyone,

Happy 1/2 birthday to Isla and Henry!!!

Hope everyone enjoys the meet today. Sounds like you will be taking over the playcentre!

Jenny - hope you feel better and the honey/lemon worked.

SS/Tara - hope OHs are on the mend soon.

Marti Pellow is on GMTV just now for those who said they like him.

Thanks Fitzio, the lemon and honey was lovely so now my sore throat is gone but I'm onto a dribbly nose, what joy! cinema was good although I would have preferred something more like Kevin Costner's version of Robin Hood.

SS, hope your OH is ok, at least he is getting all the tests. I find when Erin screams it's best to hold her away from my ear!

i'd say now is an acceptable hour if you've had a bad day

 Thank you, I am eyeing up the wine. I am trying to delay it by stuffing my face with chocolate but it's not working :o

Husband is feeling a little better and his blood pressure has come down a fair bit, but there'll be more tests and another day or so. And Molly keeps making these pterodactyl howls that are going right through me :(

    How difficult Hammy :(
I think now's a good time for a glass of wine too, I'm considering one myself.

Glad to hear Mr SS is feeling a little better :j I hope Molly is OK :(
D has had an awful reaction to the soya milk and his eczema is truly awful today and he is uncontrollably itchy and very, very, very grumpy and clingy - I am well aware that it is not that bad in the grand scheme of things but I hoped that after we discovered his milk allergy then things may improve but it appears not :(

Hammy there seems to be a link between milk allergies and soya allergies. This is what my nephew has and my sister has to be very careful of everything inc suncream!!! There is also milk in certain antibiotics etc. i could get her to email you the list she has if that would help?
There are a few milks that you can get for D on prescription but are very expensive to buy! and a referral to a dietician will help you to get an idea of things to avoid. Also ask for calcium drops as you will need to suppliment his calcium without the dairy in his diet. sorry for rambling things were coming to me as i tped lol!
What's for you won't go past you

What's wrong with an outy? Can't believe they would offer to 'fix' one, good for you for not doing anything! :) Sorry Weezl, no advice on your questions.

I know, it's completely mad, there is nothing wrong with it at all. Or maybe in my post natal fuzz I got the wrong end of the stick (highly likely!)

And anyway, I see it as payback - she turned mine into an outy, albeit temporarily, but now I'm nearly 20 weeks it has returned again far earlier than before...

    Outies rock!

Oh and note to Bruno - if your health cover is anything like hubby's - which is compulsory cover for family - you'll get a nice payout when new baby is born for not using your private cover, not as much as the annual saving, but I think we got £150.

I have used our private cover once and it was a godsend. Nothing life threatening but quality of life/peace of mind threatening so think it was worth it for that.

Thanks Hammy, Molly's fine - it's purely a new noise she's learned and is making any chance she gets.

    Jack has an outy :D

Bruno - do you mean swapping pension scheme for salary sacrifice? I will be paying J's creche with salary sacrifice, I worked out if OH and I took the £243 max vouchers we would save approx £1200 each BUT I can pay the whole £600 a month before tax so should save loads in tax and NI! But obviously less into my pension - booooooooooooooooooooo!

Fabulous meet today. Shame Boo couldn't join us.
We all took loads of piccies - at some point later I will attempt to get them uploaded!

Maz - I BLAME YOU! for me spending money on baby clothes I DIDN'T NEED for Jack! I went to the 2 ASDA's here, the first had 3 bras, the second had a bout 30 but none in that size I'm afraid. :(
Got lots of bargainous clothes for J like T-shirts and outfits for £2 and £3! But I didn't really need them!

J has just puked up the contents of his bottle all over himself and me so a change of clothes is in order!

Get well soon vibes to Mr SS and Andrew :(
