Morning ladies and Bruno
Well without a lappy I had to console myself with having a RL last night and went out with 5 mummy friends for a meal.
Was lovely to have a good old gossip and put the world to rights without us all having to have our attention elsewhere (I go to the Saturday toddle group with these ladies and whilst we try to have a gab there someone is always running off after an errant child!)
Was home by 11.30pm so watched a bit of the election coverage with hubby before turning in. Has anybody else found that some of the BBC reporting has been appallingly spun? This morning showed GB apparently 'refusing to comment' on how badly labour had done...but the pictures and the question was posed prior to any results coming through. Just goes to show you can't trust the media.
Did anybody have trouble voting? Interestingly enough hubby and I were discussing how we had never had to queue to vote before (although it was only couple of minutes for us LOL) - maybe apathy is no longer cool

Just looked up our local results... Grimsby and Cleethorpes are traditionally a tiny dot of red among a sea of blue in our part of the country, but Gy has been held on to by Labour by 700ish votes (both got 10,000 something) and Clee has been lost to blue. We're an even teenier dot of red now!
this is amazing (whichever persuasion you look at it from) - I didn't realise Austin Mitchell caused such a furore over his expenses until I was chatting to my still northern brother t'other day.
And back in my little tiny suburban world, will Tom ever stop screaming - another shocking night of sleep all round, dp ended up in the spare room and I am even more shattered than ever. Which is a bit of a bu$$er as the house is a bombsite, the inlaws are coming round this afternoon, am off to work in my dad's business for nearly 3 weeks tomorrow (with screaming monster) and nothing is sorted and all I want to do is curl up and sleep (with ear plugs). I am hoping sooner or later he'll scream himself to sleep.0 -
Henry is asleep in his jumperoo and it may be the cutest thing I have ever seen.
Ha, ha the BBC is showing a live link to Nick Clegg's car on it's way to Downing Street and half the time it's stuck in traffic!:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -
Today I smeared a big layer of bepanthen on Seth's bum and he was all red in him bum crack, so I squirted a line down it with the tube. I then leant over him to take the nappy he was playing with to wrap round his bum when he farted in my face and sprayed bepanthen all over my hair. It smelled and I am traumatised. That is all.
Sorry ladies - I am catching up and I just had to repost this - I have read it about 10 times and I am still snorting and giggling at it :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -
Did anyone bother with cruising shoes or did you all wait for 12 steps and go for 'proper shoes'?
Does this mean the Fergster is taking steps???
We went into Clarks and showed the lady what he could do (cruise really well and throw himself forward for maybe 5,6 or 8 steps) and explained that we were going on holiday for a week so he would be getting lots of additional encouragement.... She suggested proper shoes because cruising shoes would be a waste of money for a short time. Then he promptly refused to take a step for weeks *rolleyes*
Which reminds me, must get his feet measured again. I bought his shoes on 6th March so chances are his feet have grown by now.
FWIW - I don't think they really need shoes until they are going to be walking outside. Do you let him outside with a push along or whatever?please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -
Cruising shoes are fine for a while.
Ear infection here, but then I thought it was.Too many children, too little time!!!0 -
Noooooo, Nick Clegg says the Tories must try!
Well hopefully we'll get another election in a few months.
Where did everyone go? And what's happened to Sami?Too many children, too little time!!!0 -
Oh no Tara hope she gets better soon! we have back tetth coming in and she is chewing on everything!
Weezl i would go for cruising shoes to be honest as Erin was walking when she got her first shoes but they were very heavy on her feet and she was forever falling over(i never put shoes on before they were walking) i got a pair of cruisers in the sale and she walked better! She is in proper shoes just now but i think if they are not use to anything being on their feet then cruisers may be the first step? What's for you won't go past you0 -

!!!!!!it, I think he's probably just lost all the good will he built up before the election.
Boo for Maddy's ear infection. Hope she's better soon.:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -
we didn't bother getting DD shoes until she was walking properly (though we did have some leather slipper type shoes for when we took her outside walking but holding our hands iyswim)
like these but a cheap copy:

However when we got her first shoes she was only a size 3F and they only had cruising shoes in that size. She had these for 4 months as her feet didn't grow and then went into 'proper' shoes after that. I liked the cruising shoes as they were really soft leather and couldn't get scuffed as they had a rubbery bit on the toe too.0
