Just has a scary moment when T was coughing and choking in his moses basket:eek:
Got him out and he was struggling to breathe properly and wheezing. He was trying to cry but couldnt do it properly so I just kept him upright and amd kept patting/rubbing his back until he could cry properly.

He's been really dribbly lately so think it must have just been that. He was quite distressed (probably more to do with being woken up!) so I've fed him until he's calmed down. We've got his mattress propped up with folded towels now. Do you think that's the right thing to do?? Worried it might happen again when we're asleep :(

Ok if you want city centre, any of these last minute ones (ETA the last minute one, you'll have to change the 'sort' function to Manchester Arndale - it won't let me link to that) (obviously look for better prices once you decided) are all near the Arndale/Market St/Kings St (NOT MSE shops :rotfl:). Stop at the Macdonald on page 2 as they are a bit far for shopping. Check trip advisor too, Sachas is NOT good (used to be a brothel ;)).

For near the Trafford Centre (lots of shops and food but maybe too similar to any other shopping centre), Premier Inn, either TC south (on the grounds of TC) or West (used to be a tulip and nice rooms according to my old boss - just across the road from TC or could walk to the chill factore for more food and a few shops).

There is a premier inn at Heaton Park too but nothing to do there.

If you go for city centre, you can walk there from train station. If TC, depending on the time of your train, I could pick you up? I can collect you from either for the meet if you like (or think Jille is meeting SM at Picadilly). Was it Boogie who lives near TC too?

Gonna post now but not sure if links work.....HTH xxx

ETA Just seen your other post. Picadilly is aboput 30 mins ish from the meet but I could come for you and we'd just be a bit late? Or Jillie could hang on with SM for you? Would be cheaper than paying for another hotel for you...

Right, people in/around/near Liverpool-ish - is anyone free for an impromptu meet on Monday? It needs to be somewhere with good public transport since I won't have the husband or the car.

Awww Gill, you must have had a fright. Holly chokes all the time and we are so used to it that one day when she was properly choking, we hardly batted an eyelid! She is always choking on her water from her sippy cup. She is older than T though but what you are doing sounds fair enough. Not sure whether the raised mattress will make any difference unless he is congested, but it won't do any harm so worth a shot! Is the moses basket by your bed anyway because I'm sure you would hear him if he did start coughing.

If you are worried, you could always call NHS24 to see if they would suggest anything. Or maybe someone else here will have some good advice.

I think he may be congested as he has been snorting a lot, esp when he gets worked up or has been lying down a while.

His basket is near enough touching my side of the bed so as long as I'm not in too deep a sleep then I should hear him no problem.

I'm getting him weighed tomorrow at the nice quiet baby clinic so I'll ask for their advice as well

ok plans so far are that i can get the train from here at 6.30 on wed and get to manchester piccadilly at 10.50 althought im unsure how far away train is from the meet? so have also looked at train the night before and hotels.

I will have to get the train from liverpool (lime street? i used this as SB said it was the one?) to manchester, then manchester here. A bit of a carry on but a lot cheaper! train times would be 15.13 or 16.52 could do earlier or later as im not sure about your school runs etc? let me know whats best for you. As for hotels im lost lol!

If it's better for you to go home from Manchester, I can take you to Manchester rather than Liverpool. It doesn't really make a lot of difference to me, i'm in the middle.

    Am I getting this right:
You're coming to Manchester Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning.....
    You're staying Wednesday night in Merseyside;
We're having a day in Liverpool, with SB, on Thursday?

You (with or without Erin) are very welcome to Livs room on Wednesday night. If you're not comfortable with that, there are the travel lodge ones for £32 a night in Eastham or Bromborough which are near to me, or lots and lots in Liverpool city centre.

Thursday can be spent in Liverpool with SB. Then you can either get the train from Liverpool Lime street, or Manchester so long as i'm back from dropping you before 3.15. (I'm 45 min from manchester).

3 - please call SS tomorrow, preferably in tears because that seems to be the way to get things done, and tell them that you have had more help in 2 weeks whilst he was off than in 5 weeks from him and that your family desperately needs the support of someone who will try to help. What a t0sser.

Would J eat or drink something that he took to school himself?

5 Years we've had him - and he's done !!!!!! all to help. He comes out once a year and asks how we're doing, and me, being me, says yes thanks, we're fine. :o

He took his favorite cup for his cup of tea, and cartons of ribena today - he never turns down either.
He turned them both down. :(

He's been on packed lunch since September as the dinner hall is too noisy, but no, he won't eat.

Parents evening was last night, and his teacher (who's lovely) was concerned that the not eating/drinking is now becoming a power game with J. The try their best to get him to eat/drink, and J is laughing when he's not. With the weather being so hot, he must be absolutely gagging for a drink. I must say, he's a bl00dy stubborn bu66er! I don't know where he get's it from. :p Anyhows, i'm not too worried about the food as he doesn't stop eating when he gets home from school, but the drinking is a worry. He was holding his tinkle as if in pain this morning, if he's dehydrated he can get cystitis type feelings, can't he?

3, them that shout loudest gets!!! Make a real noise, and tell them you'll take it higher if you don't get a new one. To their inspection body.

That seems to be the rule. :( Mum moans at me because I manage too well and look ok. She say's i'll get nothing unless I phone crying and look like shoite with no make up when they visit. I just can't. :p
