I'm up for the Hen. I have RL Hens on the 26th and the 3rd so will be in good practice. A new dress is definitely required, Jenny!:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0

Gill, we bought Holly as swing for exactly the same reason and she loved it. She had a bit of colic, and we swung her one day in the car seat and she instantly calmed! We bought a swing the next day. Not sure it necessarily calmed her ever time, but she liked it anyway. We had Argos vouchers to use. It was the Fisher Price Take Along Swing so must be similar to the one you linked to (but Rainforest design). I actually found it really useful anyway as something to pop her in for 5 mins if I needed to do something, even when she was a bit older as she couldn't really get out of it. We got more use out of that than her bouncer (which she liked a bit more when she could bounce it herself when she was a bit older).
Not sure if that helps! Just really saying that all experiences are different so don't discount it because it didn't work for somebody.
Thanks Fitz - I think I will give it a go. As you say it will be somewhere he can sit while I'm getting some jobs done. It's hit and miss with his bouncing chair whether he'll stay in it or not!Tigsteroonie wrote: »If you can afford it, go for the Medela Swing. It's got two-stage pumping (rapid for 2 mins until let-down, then slower) and adjustable suction. I used one for a couple of months after they took away my hospital pump (sniff!), even converted it to work as a double for a while!
I wouldn't pay new prices for it as I don't intend to use it that often, so think I will follow aless's advice and see if I can get a bargain on ebay.
Oooh when's the hen night Tara? Tonight??? Ahhh I think it's the night before the wedding? 2nd July?
I'll have another look on ebay for cheap swings but there's nothing on our local netmums
No ebaying tonight tho, and no film for me and DH as T will not settle. He's been on both sides for feeding with an attempt at putting him down inbetween, then I've tried leaving him to whinge like I did last night but he's sounding quite upset now so I'd better go and give him some cuddles and maybe a bit more of a suck! I sometimes really wish he would take a dummy!Mummy to Thomas born April 27th 2010 8lb 5oz0 -
Oooh, I'll come to the hen night :j Got nothing to wear though, I wonder if it's acceptable to buy a new dress for a virtual hen night?
It is definitely acceptableHmmm we should all go and pick our dresses for Taras hennight and use them as our avies
I love that idea!! Tara, nobody would know if you just found a pic of a nice dress on t'interweb and used that
I'm having a kopperberg mixed fruits and think we might be watching a film in a minute. Hubby has ordered pizza for his tea but I'm still pretty full from my roast belly pork. Might have a cheeky slice though!

Beenie - don't know why I had the 19th in my head then! Is someone else's baby from the 19th? Newbie_maz is the 26th...I'm going mental
. And why is Amber going much faster than Finn when she's only 4 days older than him? We can't sit up alone for more than about 1.5 seconds and don't do hands & knees. However, we LOVE sticking our tongue out for 75% of the day (it's seriously the cutest thing ever) and rolling for England
.
going to bed now, seriously - am sooooo sleepy.top 2013 wins: iPad, £50 dental care, £50 sportswear, £50 Nectar GC, £300 B&Q GC; jewellery, Bumbo, 12xPringles, 2xDiesel EDT, £25 Morrisons, £50 Loch Fyne

What a fabby idea about the hen night. Hoping to be here...but it is my wedding anniversary that weekend so I may be whisked away to be wined and dined (hint, hint if you are reading this dearest husband of mine). I will pick a dress for after I have lost my mummy tummy
We have had a lovely day at the Severn Valley Railway, although Benjamin was severely overtired having only napped for about an hour all day and we had some shennanigens getting him down (including a mighty poopsplosion!!)
I told hubby he could have absolutely anything he wanted for dinner and he chose Steamed Chicken and saladYAY!!! *sarcastic*
