Fitzio - not sure if you needed the reassurance or not but you are definitely doing the right thing trying to nip the settling thing in the bud now. 20 mins is nothing in the grand scheme of things and it will get easier each evening.
I have b00gered my shoulder/neck. We were all messing around in bed this morning and I had hold of Benjamin (who was throwing himself around) and I twisted to put him down and my shoulder kind of gave way. It is extremely painful.
DSS is poorly, looks like it might be tonsilitus and hubby has an eye infection that has made his whole right eye swell up so we have cancelled our footy party tonight. The projection on the garage wall was crap in the light anyway
Benjamin doesn't have any England stuff because I am a horrible mummy and he will be in bed anyway!!please listen to MFD - she is a wise woman

hi MM - thanks for the text the other day! I'm such a crap friend for next texting back, the days seem to blur into each other at the moment
Becles - the tutu's are down to Boo as she made Isla one and is now selling them on eBay.
Fitzio - so brave for leaving H to cry it out! I popped Jack back in his cot after his first bottle at 1.30am and he cried but I wasn't strong enough to leave him (I know he would have gone to sleep eventually).
MFD - I hurt my shoulder this morning as well! Jack was trying to climb over the headboard so I put my hand on his tummy and he ploughed through regardless and I felt a big strain on my muscles.
Hope yours gets better soon and so does DSS and DH.
Jack has said Dada 5 times this morning - I am very :j but also very
At least he can wear it out and drive OH up the wall

Thanks MFD and Glam. I don't NEED reassurance, but it's nice to get it all the same! I don't think that controlled crying is a good idea for younger babies personally, but I am at the stage where I know she definitely just wants our attention and she won't let me soothe her in the cot so the only thing I can do is to pick her up continually and hope that eventually I will be able to put her down without her noticing which could take all night, or to try this. She still loved me this morning and is her usual bubbly self!
Well done Jack! Holly has been saying dada for a few months, but not with any real meaning. The only time she says mum is when she is crying really hard.
I did teach her to wave this week though.
Hope your sore shoulders get better soon. I know how painful they can be. Mine has been fine recently. It's just the bottom of my spine which is painful and stiff at the moment! That's from sleeping in the spare room on the rubbish mattress with Holly!!0
