OK I'm sort of wrong, in that Child Tax Credit is kind of banded - it's either off (above some level around the £50k mark?), normal or extra - so at some low-20s number you get one number, above that to 50ish you get a smaller number, then above that nothing. If that made sense.

ps it's not in bands, there is a reduction ratio :cool:
make sure you remind them/take off yourself the £100 thing

you might choppy , basically its if you earn more than £x then they reduce your entitlement by y% of £x

In summary though, at the low-household-income end you end up getting get variable WTC, but for a wide spread of incomes from a middling number upwards, it's either one level of CTC or another or none at all, and no WTC. So it might as well be banded, and the phrase makes more sense than "reduction ratio"

Sami, so then why does my stupid renewal form tell me that I would get the same credits if our household income stayed above around £25k and under £50k (and don't need to ring them to update if it's in this range)? The whole thing confuses me and I'm a pretty maths-y person . Anyway, more a rhetorical person as I'm off to bed .

For those that frequent theatres... Is it better to be at the back on the floor or on the lower tier?

Krystal - I'd go for lower tier. I think that slightly higher up gives a much better view.

front half of lower tier is infinitely better than back half of floor IMO

Well that's me sitting through War Of The Worlds for Dave's birthday... Block 5 row N seats 240 to 241 in the lower tier...

Could have got closer to the front but the source was not trusted and the tickets were 3x the price each...

Should probably check mother can babysit before I book a hotel hey...:cool:

Hilarity in MFD towers this evening. DSS has had all his hair cut off and Benjamin doesn't recognise him :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Normally Benjamin pounces on DSS, makes him play with him (thrusting toys in his face!), gives him hugs and generally adores his big brother...tonight he refused to go in the living room with DSS there and stood being shy in the kitchen!!

For those of you who haven't seen DSS's old hair it was like this but even longer and now it is super short and cropped to his head. He does look loads different!!
