How about postcards on stands of piccys like, JFK, Marilyn Monroe, Frank Sinatra, anything 50's themed. Have a gander in Frankie and Bennys restaurants for inspiration.0

How about flowers in sundae glasses?
There's a great online company called Stephensons that sell catering equipment - they have a selection of vintage-style glass sundae dishes.0 -

Ooh, I love that idea! You could even use something like a false sunflower, then fill the sundae glass with wrapped boiled sweets instead of glass beads for an extra treat for your guests!0 -
How about giant martini glasses filled with flowers and draped with pearls which you can wrap around the stem. I saw something similar on google when I was googling 1950's table decorations.0

Dinah instead of buying them - hire them as its cheaper...or if you know someone with a Country Baskets card (trade only) then you can get them from there.0

I prefer to buy them as I can sell them on again later. However my ideas have moved on a bit. Early on in the planning process we wanted a champagne tower/fountain thingy using the vintage coupe saucer champagne glasses. In the end we realised as we had to buy the champagne off the venue (rather than using all the bottles of Asti sat in my shed from when Tesco did a £20 of points on £50 of booze deal!) it was too expensive. However I'm hoping to come up with mini champagne glass towers as centerpieces, only 2 or maybe 3 rows high, with floating candles and glass bubbles in them, draped with plastic pearls from the habidashery. Thought this would fit the vintage glam theme nicely - and its all thanks to the lovely people who posted on here as I never would have thought of it. I've ordered some glasses this morning, and a mirror plate, and the glass bubbles (but they have to come from the US) so I'll post some pics when I've made them up, see what people think.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008
