first time buyer bad credit-help please!

Hi guys

Im looking for some help please. Im 32 and i really want to buy a house. However for the past 14 years ive been in and out of debt. At the end of last year i contacted all my creditors and ive been paying them back on a regular basis. I work full time and have got a permenant contract on good money and im a key worker. Also ive moved lots and ive had 4 different surnames.
Im not stupid and i know that there is no way anyone would look twice at me for a mortgage at the moment. However i wondered if anyone could give me advice on how far back a mortgage company will look with regards to my credit. I fully intend to have everything paid off in another 2years and i am hapy to wait untill then to look into buying but any hints, tips and advice would be greatly recived.

Thanks in advance!

Rainbow x

5 years. Make all repayments you owe to existing creditors for next two years, spend 3 years after that saving as much money for a deposit.
