Removing myself from title deeds

I have recently split with my partner. Its pretty amicable and having spoken to the lender there should be no problem with him taking over the mortgage on his own and buying me out for half the equity.
However, I'm not sure how we go about changing the title deeds to take my name off them, if we don't I suppose I still have a legal claim to the flat. Do we need a solicitor for this or is there a form somewhere we can do ourselves? The Land Registry website is a bit confusing!

Surprised the Lender didn't say how, as they want the deeds to match the mortgage.
Talk to your Solicitor if the Lender is not helpful.0 -
If it is amicable your ex needs a solicitor to protect the interests of the lender if for no other reason and to register the title in his name.
You can have a solicitor to make sure you get any money due to you and that you are released from your obligations under the mortgage but in a lot of cases the solicitor can just act for your ex and the mortgage lender.RICHARD WEBSTER

About £300 usually0

its costing me 515 to transfer the house over:
140 for the bank to transfer the mortgage (santander)
375 for the conveyancing solicitor
to save money i could just sell the house and get the ex to go the solicitors on exchange day but i couldn't depend on him doing it on time soooo i'm paying out so i've got peace of mind.
all the solicitors doing is arranging a document explaining to the ex about the value of the house and for him to either get a solicitor to contest the transfer or to sign on the dotted line. Solicitor also has to sort the land registry side of things.0
