I've just cancelled my pay monthly contract and am looking for a pay as you go sim (I don't need a new phone).

Which is the best sim only deal out there?

How many minutes do you want?
Do you want lots of texts?
How much do you want to pay?
Do you want a 30-day deal or a 12 month one?
Do you want Internet connection?
What is reception on all 5/6 networks like in your area?

It isn't really difficult. You look up each network's web site - there are only really 5 or 6 of them. Take a look at what you need - work out the costs in a comparison table and within half an hour you have the answer.

I probably text more than call although when i do call its often to national rate numbers.

I'm looking to pay as little as possible for what i get obviously.

Whats the difference between a 30-day deal and a month deal? I thought pay as you go don't require contracts etc?

An internet connection is not important.

I have no idea what the other networks are like in my area as i've only ever used Orange here (I live in Leicester).

If you send texts a lot, why don't you try GiffGaff. For £5, they give you unlimited monthly text. For £10, they give you 100 minutes and unlimited text.
