Just been looking at your post; I've been with metronet ( now Plusnet, just been taken over) for about 2 yrs now and I've had no problems at all, ever! I've got 2mb download speed that will shortly be upgraded to 8mb free of charge provided that the line can take it, and a 2mb download limit that i have never reached, and all for £13.75 a month including vat. I agree with some of the previous posts that a router is much more use than putting in passwords and stuff but if you do go that way get one with a built-in firewall. Netgear DG854 or similar are good and less than £50 now. I signed up to a three month contract at the start but have no idea if it still stands. From what i can see, and i do check regularly, they are still the cheapest around.

You must be the marketing director of Plusnet right?

Plusnet do seem to have a lot of problems, and a lot of very unhappy customers. Have a read of the Plusnet message board at ADSLGuide to see what they're saying.
Best thing to do........
Once you've picked a couple of companies that you are interested in. Go to the compare page at ADSLGuide. You can select up to 6 companies to see how they've been rated (speed, reliability, customer service) by their own users.
Then look at the message boards for each ISP (scroll down till you get to the company you want). This will give you an idea of any problems that users of these companies are facing. How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

hi all
has anyone had any experience with toucan internet? ive read all thse nice reports about tt and tiscali, but dont know who is worth a look at.
taMortgage £242500 on completion
FD CC 11/2014 £5900 (£3900 after BT)
FD loan Approx £5700
Deeply depressing total - £2541000 -
Altough Virgin have a 1 month contract you have to pay around £60 to leave in the first year, most ISP's charge this as its what they have to pay BT for connection.0
