Hi there! This is the Daily Thread for Thursday 22st April. It is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new Daily Thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Dailys' live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just as good.

Morning:p

Hi, another cold and frosty start to the day, should be warm and dry throughout..
Work this morning followed by drinks and curry afterwards. Should be good.
Toothpaste, has anyone noticed how expensive it is? Most of Asda's own brands had gone up to £1 ! that's about 100% increase, what's that all about?
I feel bad this morning for eating a whole Fray Bentos pie last night.... I mean they are not huge, but still..... _pale_

Well, have a good day everyone....

    Good morning!

Cold & frosty here too but another lovely sunny day looks to be on the cards :T Work today which I'm looking forward to as its really busy and the day flies by. Lunch is a sandwich & some fruit and tea tonight is spaghetti bolognaise which I'll put in the slow cooker before I go. Grated carrots, chopped peppers, mushrooms & some bacon will be added to streeetch it out a bit & sneak some veg in ;)

I have a bit of ironing to do tonight which I'll do in the kitchen whilst DH is watching the latest political debate.

DS1's army application is coming on well, they are currently on the vetting procedure. He has had his medicals and fitness tests & will have his big interview once everything else is sorted.

We have a plumber coming this morning as there appears to be a leak underneath the bath. The kitchen ceiling below the bathroom has a patch of cracked plaster on it so I'm hoping that the cause will be found. We want to decorate the kitchen & living room in the next month or so.

I'm a bit out of touch with whats going on with everybody so will just send big hugs and love to anyone who needs it. Have a good day all xxxx

JackieG and all others who have lost posts – I always type mine out in Word, then just copy it into the reply box when I’m done. That way you don’t lose your text if the internet throws a wobbly. You can always slip smilies in after if you want to.
    Thinking of LadyGrim today.
N9eav – my OH always eats entire “family” sized pies. I wouldn’t worry about it! And RedRuby mine is skinny too. I keep telling myself that one day his wicked ways will catch up with him and he will turn into a blob!

    *Yawns*
I’m SO sleepy today! No idea why, I slept like a log last night. Oh well, Keep Calm, Carry on!

What a fun day yesterday. First, there was the call from the credit card company saying there was some suspicious activity on my card and they’d stopped it. Turned out it was the set-up fee for our new mortgage. Apparently they stop any transaction from a financial institution. Random. Anyway, told them to let it through. Mortgage company resubmitted and guess what? Blocked again. Rang CC company, who said they didn’t know what was wrong. Told Mortgage company to try again. Haven’t heard back so fingers crossed all is well. Then our Financial Advisor rang to say “don’t panic” (which inevitably made me panic), “But I accidentaly put you down as Antiguan instead of British and now the mortgage company want to see your work permit”. For obvious reasons, I do not have a work permit. So now they think I’m working illegally in the UK. On the upside, they’ll have a hard job deporting me with the lack of planes at the moment. Although thinking about it I quite fancy a holiday in the carribean…:rotfl:
OS for today will take a back seat whilst I sort out the whole Credit Card / Mortgage Company / Antiguan crisis. I need to tidy up a bit, and sort baked potatoes for dinner. Also need to pop into town to pay in some cheques.
Hope you al have lovely days,
    Gxx

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

    Good morning all :)

Yeppppp, cold and frosty here this morning, the grass crunched under foot when I went down the garden at 7am, Brrrrrrrr! The sky is perfectly blue though, here's looking forward to another gorgeous day.

Even though we haven't 'met' on here I'd like to send hugs and best wishes to Ladygrim on this difficult day.

Well this morning I will make a large pan of bologniese which I'll then split into two pans, one for tonight's tea and one for tomorrow. Might have it with HM chips tonight. Also have to do the garden sweeping that I kept putting off and putting off yesterday *rolls eyes*.

Hope you all have a good day x
