Wireless Internet Disconnects Every Time Phone Is Used

Hi,
My brother has got a wireless Netgear router with Sky. Several Laptops and a PC in the property successfully gain internet connection from this router.
There are 2 phone sockets in the property that are in use. One socket is in the ground floor hallway which the digital cordless phone is plugged into.
The second phone socket is on the first floor, the router and the fax machine are plugged into this phone socket via an adapter. The Fax machine is normally switched off at the mains.
There are no microfilters in any of the sockets, ground floor or first floor.
There are 2 issues I hope you will be able to help with.
1) Firstly, even though internet connection can always be gained from the wireless router for the laptops and PC, every time someone answers the digital cordless phone or makes a call, internet connection always cuts off for the duration of the phone call. When someone gets off the phone, internet connection is regained.
Someone suggested that he should speak to Sky, but being the lazy student type that he is, he hasn't got round to this yet! Also, when I've Googled this I've read that other Sky customers that have posted this problem had been fobbed off when they've spoken to them! (I know I should still get him to give them a call).
Can you please give some ideas on resolving this problem?
2) Every time the router is switched On, it seems to interfere with the digital phone resulting in a fuzzy sound in the background and you can barely hear the person on the other end of the line. As soon as the router is switched Off, the noise and interference stops.
Do you know how to resolve this as well please?
Thank you.
Jay

When you say you get disconnected from the internet, does the wireless stay connected, or is it that that is dropping out.
If the former, fitting the microfilters might help the issue, if the latter, change the wireless channel your router is using. That should stop the interference issue as well.0 -
OP, since you are aware that there are no ADSL filters on either active extension, then I am curious as to why you are asking the question-since it appears that you already know the answer?
Without filters, the broadband will not function properly. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

Apparently the Wireless Router is still connected with all the lights flashing as normal but the internet just drops.
If router channel needs to be changed, please instruct how to do this?

I only picked up/became aware of Microfilter devices from bits I read on the internet, don't know the answer or know if it is applicable in this situation........I'm very clueless on these issues:o0 -
Put the filters on first, if there is still a problem come back for info on how to change the wireless channel. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

ADSL filters are always required on broadband installations where phones/faxes Sky boxes are in use.
There's no 'applicable situations'-it applies to all situations! No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
SORRY.......just realised the router is plugged into a filter!
The Fax machine wasn't though, it was plugged into a two port adapter in the socket and the filter was plugged into that adapter, not directly into the socket if that makes sense!
Should I purchase a microfilter for the other active phone socket where the digital phone plugs into first and see what happens, and if noise and disconnection continues get back?0 -
The filter should be plugged directly into the phone socket with the router and fax plugged into the filter, yes you need a filter in the one with the phone otherwise you will still get disconnections every time the phone is in use, all active sockets must be filtered.0

Sorry all to be a pain, but can you give your input on which one I should purchase please:
