Internal aerial for freeview

Hello everyone,
I wondered if anyone has had any luck with getting an internal aerial to work with your freeview. I did try about 3 years ago with no luck.
I am wanted to watch tv in my bedroom, I have cable in my front room, and I know it is a bit hit and miss with AV senders with cable.
I cant believe there is not a way of getting freeview without the installation of a roof aerial (I am on a DMP not much money for extra expense.) Also | am in rental accomodation so it would be better for me to invest in something I can move with me.
Thanks for your help, hope it all makes sense.
Susanna

I had to cancel my upstairs virgin tv due to financial reasons, and have no outdoor ariel.
I bought an SLX Gold DigiTop Amplified high performance indoor ariel from Amazon, and have managed to get all the freeview channels despite being 12 miles from the transmitter, and in a dip.
It took me hours to find the right spot, and I didn't get a signal immediately. The only way I got a signal was by plugging it into the mains, turning the gain up to its highest setting, and putting it on the windowsill with the ariel angled just right.
It was worth it though. I paid £9 in the sale for mine.0 -
It depends on how far from the transmitter you are, if you are close and in a strong signal area you can get reception with an internal aerial, the further away the less likelihood and you may need an external aerial.
Oh and don't try ariel it is a washing powder.:)0 -
Thanks guys for the info, it is soo fustrating. I am 14 miles and middle of the city, so I dont think I will have much luck.
Cajef, wish I had spoken to you before purchase that ariel, I bought, biological, non biogical and the new one for extra colour!! LOL

I would try the SLX Gold one I recommended. It had one of the highest scores in tests done, and has some favourable reviews. You could always send it back if no good.0
