it isn't half convincing! im relatively computer savvy and even I was wondering if it was legit or not, god help my middle aged parents if they get it! The .exe malwarebytes won't run :(

rename it by right clicking on the file name and changing it to qwert.exe

aha it ran! thanks Browntoa. Fingers crossed I get rid of it. That'll teach me not to trust dodgy websites!

if that does not work then downlo

    FixExe.reg -

double-click on the FixExe.reg file. When Windows prompts whether or not you want to allow the data to be added to your computer, click on the Yes button.
    button.

I used fixexe.reg - malaware doesn't seem to want to run even though it is installed

  • Reboot and run your computer in safe mode, then run your malware program to remove the virus. I too got infected with this and putting my laptop in safe mode was the only way I could tackle it.

@Jamtart6: Spyware Doctor is safe yes, I have it but I only run it for occasional scans as a friend said it was a "system hog" if you left it running.
