Still not heard from them.
Tried to ring but they cannot deal with online application queries via telephone.
Sent an email tracking query and have had a reply saying thanks for your email request etc.
I wish I had gone into a branch now......
OR, gone with A&L!Tough times never last longer than tough people.0 -
I do actually.
But the first part of what I said is true.
If somebody comes in and opens a Flexi Isa in Branch we can have it actioned and opened and an account number assigned within an hour, all details are then posted out to customers from head office within 7 days.
Any problems with accounts opened in branch can be dealt with in branch. No call centres, no hassle.
Never in the era of cash ISAs has so much effort been made, by so many, for so little

Please do not -- and mean this most sincerely -- do NOT attempt to go with Alice & Fester.
This is how we started three weeks ago. And have aged three years since.
I'm also convinced you have been spared a great deal of unnecessary suffering by not being able to earn an extra £5 in a year from Bank Sanfairyanne.
Bearing in mind the kind of customer service received, you'd only have spent that extra fiver on alcohol anyway.
@ JamesU: how true, sadly, how absolutely. . . True!

I saw the pain..
Anyway, cheer up and enjoy, it's the weekend!:)

A&L has always been fantastic with me, santandar/abbey have been a night mare, difficult to open accounts, they dodged up the transfer of payments/income etc, then they bodged up the closing down of the accounts. I spent more time in branch sorting this out than probably using the card and doing e-banking.
I know they are the same now, even under the license but A&L still just seem better!Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.
There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies0
