I want to do something different

I have finally pinned the OH down to agreeing to marry me, romantic I know but as my sister pointed out with the ultimatum marry me or leave he is choosing me even if it isn't on one knee with a violin in the background!!
Anyhow I am a wedding photographer and have therefore seen a lot of weddings and I want something different. Anyone got any suggestions? (PS can't go abroad, my Mum isn't well enough to travel) Sensible budget and preferably legal

Erm, I think it might be a tall order!
Having seen so many weddings you might kinda think anything I come up with is naff (I've only been through this once and hope that's the only time
)
How do you feel about Zoo weddings?
Do the two of you have anything special in common?0 -
Not sure where you are but how about a zoo wedding? I'm getting married next year at Chester Zoo and I know other zoos also do this. At Chester there's the option of a walking safari round the zoo after all the zoo visitors have left in the evening

Don't you hate it when someone beats you to it?0 -
Congratulations! :T
My suggestion would be to think of things that mean a lot to you both personally and encorporate them into the wedding. Then it's different from the "norm" without being different to your tastes.
For example if you both liked Japanese things, (food, films, martial arts) you could encorporate decorations, food, even clothes accordingly. Or if one of you likes sailing and one of you likes beaches you could give it a nautical theme. Even if you don't have easily combined things you could bring in a bit of both to your wedding. If you're an avid reader and a real ale fan, carry vintage books down the aisle and decorate with single stem flowers in empty beer bottles and a wall full of pump clips. If you enjoy fancy dress or like a certain historical era, make it a costumed do.
What kind of things do you and your OH enjoy?0 -
that totally threw me when I went back to the page and saw words I didn't remember writing pmsl0

Have you both got anything in common what you enjoy doing together like walking or camping? If you like walking you could go to the favourite place you like walking ect ect

How far do you want to travel? And whereabouts are you?0

How about a tree-house wedding?!
I think most weddings are essentially the same - especially if you see them all the time like you do! It's up to you to make it personal, like Emmy said-draw ideas from what you like and work from there!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
Hi All,
Thank you for your replies, a zoo wedding is a definite no, sorry, I don't like them.
Things we like, well, drinking seems to be our main point of common interest and travel. He is a mad Liverpool supporter, I spend my spare time working with a dog rescue. We foster dogs although he would give up tomorrow if I would let him! We failed on one and I love to have him at the wedding, he would look fab in a dickie bow
We are in South Wales and whilst UK travel is OK I don't want to go abroad as my Mum wouldn't be able to come.0 -
