Do not cancel TT, just ask them for your MAC and then sign up with O2.
If you cancel with TT then you will get a gap in service and a bill for a cease charge of about £40.

Thats good advice re the DO NOT cancel & gap issues, but it's actually a BIT better than that from new joiner's perspective.

Don't even need to WAIT for your MAC to arrive before you can act!

If you sign up today you can LOCK IN the £back at the £70/80/90 depending on your package choice (still at that level today on Qco &TCB) - ie you do NOT need your MAC to hand at the time you place the order VIA the £back site (and if you wait to manana, the £back amount may vary, down or up at any midnight, though if I was using my crystal ball to predict I'd say down next).

Wait to see that track okay if you wish (can take a few days!).

Meanwhile apply for the MAC which existing ISP HAS by industry code to supply in writing (eg email) within 5 days.
Then pass it on to o2 - potentially don't if the £back was critical to you and if for any reason the signup hasn't tracked on your £back site.
There's no way o2 can 'force' you to complete the signup if you are unhappy a £back doesnt track : they ANYWAY provide a 30-day moneyback guarantee (to bale out, otherwise you're committed to paying for the first year of service once the service is activated on your landline).

Just bumping this in MSE mode as both Quidco & TopCashBack offers EXPIRE at midnight tonight - likely to be lower from tomorrow (ie no longer chance to get a year's broadband for a £2.50 profit (or worse)).

Does anyone have any idea how long the cashback offers usually disappear for? I took advantage of this last time to good effect. I'm moving house now so would like to cancel mine and take it out in my g/f's name.

    Cheers,

Just to CLOSE this thread for now.
    a) Those layered £70-80-90 cashbacks did end at the end of April
    b) They were replaced with a £50 blanket £back.
    c) Saturday 8th May they became NIL / 0% "for now"

I would expect to start again next week BUT maybe complicated by extra incentives to be "doubled up" ie to sign for o2 Home Broadband WITH the bolt-on o2 Home Phone.

Meanwhile you can probably blag £40 incentive via their "Bring a Friend" referral scheme (that SEEMS to allow for family/friend/relative/self-referral!)

My latest analyses are always online at:
    http://cid-99aa6cf1226facfe.skydrive.live.com/browse.aspx/o2%20Broadband%20-v-%20Be%20There%20Broadband
(And for the benefit of the MSE team that removed my link - they could usefully say WHY. There are NO referral links in my material - just information shared for community benefit like your site! Actually unlike your site as you DO rightly own up when you provide referral links - I just don't provide them AT ALL!)

Otherwise the ThinkBroadband forum has a public space on o2 Broadband at
    http://forums.thinkbroadband.com/o2.html?view=collapsed
Just look out for MKD postings there to find the links!
