Hi all.
Not sure if I am pushing the boundaries of the rules here - I hope not.
I normally frequent the Up Your Income forum and we have a challenge on their at the moment to turn £100 to £10k, think we are now called Dribbling to £10k as we chat sooo much! Personally I am not doing very well BUT one of our members has done something very clever in his attempt to make his £10k. He has produced a programme that provides you with detailed and up-to-date information about your competitors Ebay business enabling you to invest in products which sell and research your own product line. (sorry cut and pasted that bit!!)
Currently he has a free trial on his website, which was just launched yesterday, on our thread we all think it is a fantastic tool, but we might be biast. So if any of you would like to try the free trial I am sure any feedback would be gratefully received.
I have nothing to gain from this as the website is nothing to do with me, I have just made a new friend on the other thread and this might not only help him with any feedback or suggestions but also you fellow MSE'ers can benefit by quickly finding out what others are doing on eBay.

There are several such sites around most of which are free so as a business model it may be flawed before it even starts.
I know a couple of high level powersellers (on here and elsewhere) that use paid for services but they are very very detailed. A quick look at the one mentioned in the OP suggests it is as basic as Goofbay and i hoenstly can't see why anyone would pay when there is a free service.
EDIT: Also as I don't follow that thread I don't know if it is a 'known' regular user that has posted it. I would express caution for any free trial that requires a sign up , there is a lot of money to be made from email harvesting of email addresses that are confirmed as 'live'I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I haven't heard of goofbay (but then I only started using eBay a couple of months ago when I started our challenge so no surprise there!!) - will have a look and pass on the info!
Thank you!Life is a work in progress0 -
I do know that ebaysellertools is planning on becoming very detailed (I don't understand it all but he will making sure it evaluates all the findings.)
Sorry I genuinely had no idea such other tools existed, I was just excited for a fellow MSE'er and thought I would share! I'll (or he will) let you know when he has had chance to add the extra features so you can get extra feedback!!Life is a work in progress0 -

Good point Soolin - we do get a few that try their luck but in this case it is a genuine thread member, hence I was tying to be helpful. Get the feeling I haven't been though
I would not have posted this if I had thought that was the purpose. Life is a work in progress0 -
Here's the Goofbay link:

Hi It is my tool, and I can guarantee that no email harvesting is being done, you will not receive any spam mail as your email address is only used for the login on the website as well as updates related to this tool.
This software differs from goofbay in the sense you can track multiple users at once and compare the data on the sales across these users, without a limit on the paid version, as well as it keeping track of what has sold. This key feature requires a way of identifying you as a user to enable you to cross reference only the sellers you have requested. Simply put it takes a lot of the administration time out of tracking multiple sellers data.
I chose to go for a pay for model to prevent the site from appearing as simply another MFA site, which is clearly the model goofbay and the like are using. This tool is only a part of the bigger picture with small updates occuring every day as I work towards getting the full suite together.
Once completed the full suite will include, and be one of the cheapest on the market:
1 Module for the Ability for users to upload listings direct to ebay, track inventory, relist a large number of products - all early (pre June 1st ) users will have the option to receive this module and any further modules we create at 50% off the retail price. This is in way of a thank you for showing faith in me whilst I try and get this off the ground.
Another key issue in a non-paid model, is the lack of technical support you would get should something not work. It is my goal to answer every email through the ticket system in the order they are received in a timely manner (I am on my laptop usually 14+ hours a day - as well as implement the features requested by my users as it is them that are key to the future success of this product.
I hope non of this is taken as a sales pitch - as I am the least salesy person on this forum - as a web developer who works late into the night to complete work. In fact I only knew Nixi had put this thread up when she highlighted it in the dribblers thread.
My Dream is to make this tool the best it can be for its users - to justify them spending there hard earned money on it, and that it generates them the revenue to justify its cost.£4142.49/ £131,795.91 - 3.14% paid off or only £129,608.80 to go!
