Anything useful I can do with my old analogue TV?

I understand it will work with a digi-box but I'll never bother to get a box to go with it. I've been told these tv's are just being dumped - nobody on freecycle will want it - charity shops won't (electrical test cost) - no secondhand value now we're digital.
Just seems a shame to take it to the tip. Is there anyone/anywhere that wants these old analogue sets ?

Don't write of Freecycle, they are being offered, and accepted, daily on my local group.
Many charities and youth groups also take them for viewing DVDs and playing video games0 -
The British Heart Foundation has electrical shops, which should accept your TV. I understand that they do their own PAT testing.RIP independent MSE.

Places like the Salvation Army provide furniture to poeple setting up home etc, they may take it.
Personally I think CRTs give a much better picture than the flat panels.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0 -
ive given afew away on freecycle, they are ideal for kids rooms etc so give it a try.0
