Hi everyone,
I hope someone can help us. About 10 weeks ago we had a disaster at our home. A firm came in and was rather negligent with the work they carried out. We basically had sewerage come through the dining room ceiling and then this guy put a fan in the dining room/kitchen to blow the contaminated water across the kitchen, We all have been very poorly with stomach upsets ect ect. Finally last week they agreed to clean the kitchen. We have allowed this but we're still not happy some of the results from the swabs taken have come back with low levels of bacteria but they did NOT test for urine or feacese (sp) We are obvioulsy very concerned about what is in our kitchen.
If anyone could help me with a letter I would be most greatful.
Steph xx

Why didn't you properly clean the kitchen?0

Without prejudice
Dear Sir/madam
We aren't happy with the amount of pooh-poohs still left in the kitchen after your firm cleaned up. The table has brown stains all over it and we are forced to eat off the floor, which incidentally, isn't very nice as the cat has poohed there too.
We would therefore like you to do your job properly or we will be forced to take this matter further.
Yours sincerely

Why didn't you properly clean the kitchen?
We have done we have also had a firm in that has cleaned the kitchen with a product called 429 which they use in hospitals and there is still bacteria in the kitchen.
This is a serious matter not something to be joked about imagine if it was your own house that has been like it for the last 11 weeks.0 -
Hi, Id love to help and I love a fight, already won three including bank charges.
Dear sir/madam
Following on from our disaster and the clear up that occurred we feel that the job your company did was inadequate.
Since this so-called clean up our entire family has been severely ill and we feel that the hygiene standard that is now in our kitchen is no longer the standard we prefer to live with and was the standard we had before the disaster.
We feel that your comapany did not do adequate tests and the clean was not sufficient.
We therefore request another visit from your company to perform further tests and to do another clean up.
We are hoping that th9is matter can be dealt with between us and your company and we need not take advice regading any legal action.
We look forward to your response regarding this matter.

So you don't know that there is anything dangerous in the kitchen? And even if there was traces of sewage left a good scrub with Detol would eradicate it all. Kitchens are crawling with bacteria all of the time. Stick a chicken on your worktop and the bacteria it leaves could kill you, so you can never have a kitchen that's free from bacteria.0 -

There is potentially dangerous bacteria in the kitchen. If there isn't now there certainly was before. The thing is we wouldn't of had to "scrub" or get someone into clean this kitchen if he hadn't of been so negligent in his job. How many other people has he done this to? He should of sealed off the dining room from the kitchen and living room and we should of been moved out of the house instead we have been left sitting like this for the last 11 weeks. Because of his negligence we have been really poorly, builders and other workmen that have been in the house could of been poorly because he has treated this as clean water and not sewerage. He has been completly incompetent in his job.
How would any of you like to of been any of these workmen that have been to the house and carried out any type of work you have been set not knowing that you were going into a unclean environment. At the end of the day it was his job to inform everyone that this was sewage and he failed to he should have a duty of care not only to us but also to the workmen that came out to us. This wasn't only our sewage but also next doors.0 -
In what way was this person negligent, what job was he doing? Who employed him?0

He came to dry out the property he was appointed by the Halifax.
He put a dehumidifier in the dining room/ kitchen he also left a fan in above a false beam that had sewage pouring through it so therefore the sewage hit the fan (literally) and then it was fanned across the kitchen.
This has been proven and they have pretty much accepted liability by asking another firm to come out to the property to clean the kitchen.
He also left sewage in the bottom of the shower tray and just sanatised over the top of it.
He never told a sub contractor who was carrying out the building work that it was sewage.
He has treated this as clean water and not sewage!0 -
Flood damage?
So surely you should contact the Halifax?0
