Just a quick tip, hotel rooms (even Travelodge ones) usually have a second lock on the back of the door of some sort. Next time your probably remember to use this
. On the plus side, some people pay for experiences like yours :rotfl:.

That's from the original post. The later poster was subject to a theft when they were out of the room.0 -
Have I misunderstood or did you expect them to do a CRB check on a hotel receptionist?
If they are in a position of trust, where they have access to keys that can be used to open bedrooms in the hotel, then they should be subject to a CRB check."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0 -

Is that a matter of law or your opinion?0 -
CRB checks are rubbish anyway0

I'm sure in some instances they do work. But of course there are incidents where convicted child molesters have passed CRB's and gotten a job dealing with young kids :SYou keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -
Found your threads when I was looking for Travelodge's Head Office address.
We stayed in their Sutton Scotney lodge and we had to ask for cups to be put into the room. Next we had to ask for another pillow, then we had to complain as there was mould growing in the bathroom, in the shower cubicle, around the taps on the sink and some on the floor, plus the toilet was black at the water line. We took photos to prove our point.
When my husaband went to complain, the lady at the desk 'phoned the manager - who would not speak to my husband - it became a three way conversation! The manager told her to move us rooms, but she said they were overbooked!!! Next, the manager said he would phone us on our mobile the next day (why he wouldn't speak there and then I don't know). Suffice to say we did not get a call.
I then emailed their customer services from their website. We got emails to say we would get a response in so many days, then two subsequent emails, about two weeks apart, saying that they were too busy with their sale to be able to respond to our complaint!!!
I emailed again, copying their email to me back to them, but still, after two weeks, no reply. I am now about to send a registered letter to their Head Office.
Lets hope I have some luck, will keep you informed0 -

Not always possible.
The manager at the last Lodge we stayed at refused point blank to rectify the situation - we even made a reasonable suggestion for him!
A subsequent letter to TL (and to the op - a letter is the way to go, they ignore emails) sorted it though, with a full refund.0 -
Gotta say, Travelodge, Vicar Lane, Leeds is Brilliant.
Clean, modern,
The one thing they need to get their act together is food.
They sell an all in one breakfast for I think £7.50, now being a small eater i am not going to pay that for a bacon sandwich and a cuppa
so its over the road to the cafe.
They would get a lot more custom if they sold things singly.
We dont drink in the bar either, £4.50 for a glass of wine, I dont think so.............make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -

Never, ever eat in a T/L!! It is (almost) always possible to find a JD Wetherspoon pub nearby for meals - brekkie can be had in most for around £4 including coffee from 7am. I often use Vicar Lane and the 'spoons on the city station when I am in Leeds.0
