i agree it's probably not the best thing buying fruit and veg not in season here anyway. i avoid it myself. but OH is a little harder to 'train'!Those who will not reason, are bigots, those who cannot, are fools, and those who dare not, are slaves. - Lord Byron0

I work on a customer service desk in Asda, I have had a few customers return strawberries that had gone mouldy a few days before their return visit to the store, it is not a problem they don't have to have a receipt, the container with the ident details is fine. If they ring and say they cannot get in for a few days we tell them to throw the fruit away and just bring in the empty container. The reason we like to have packing returned is that on the packing all the details we need for tracing the supplier are on it. There are of course always the people who just bring in empty containers after they have eaten the product but we do get to know them as they get too greedy. It is always better if you can to bring in the rotten fruit if you can but if you cannot keep it just let them know.0

I have had the same prob with Asda bags of large oranges. I agree all this sound trivial but it all adds up, and yes, it happens a lot.
