    Hi

Had my hearing today and despite the pessimistic view of the result of my union rep, the result was a "slap on the wrist" with no formal punishment.

    Very, very relieved.

Thanks for the advice and opinions.

Wow. That's good news. Nice one.

Do you think you were, if I can use this word "lucky" to get that, or do you think the union rep called it wrong?

I would have to say that it was a combination of his intervention and comments, a forgiving panel and an admittance that I made an error of judgement and the fact that in a similiar situation recently I did follow protocol. just as well you didn't hand your notice in and a very important point in not believing everything your Union rep says!

I'm very glad to hear you kept your job

Wise words jdturk, he was very calming and spoke well but he is their as your representative and cannot possibly know all that you have done at work, both good and bad, and sometimes this is considered by the panel.

Giving my notice in, would have been my last option but having an "experienced" union rep is worth it in my humble opinion.
