Many thanks for all the replies. What I want to do is make a system recovery disk for my son's netbook. Will any of the above do that please, or do they just back up files/documents?
If none of these do, are there any other free programs out there I could use instead please? Have seen winbackup recommended but don't know if that can do system saves?0 -

Macrium Reflect for any drive.
If the drive is a Seagate; Disc Wizard
If Maxtor; MaxBlast 50 -

Is that the "disk imaging" referred to in the features section? Only it says file and folder backup is only available in the full version and it seems generous of them to allow you to back up a drive in the free version but not backup files and folders.
The drive is built in so how will I know whether or not it is a seagate or maxtor please?
Thank you very much for your replies btw.0 -

Yes, Disk imaging is the function that you need.
As to the identifying of the drive, you can 'right click' on the 'C' drive and choose 'Properties' and then 'Hardware' or Flying Windows key and whilst holding it down the Pause Break key > Device Manager > Disk Drives.0
