I've got one of these, i would not be without it
You can set it so that you only receive calls from friends on your star list, everybody else goes to voice mail if it's important they will leave a message,
And any of your friends that are Ex-directory put them onto your stared list and ask them to dial 1470 before they ring your number, that will release there number at the exchange.
no more problems with cold calls withheld and overseas calls :T0 -
Best bit of kit I've bought for a long time - have had mine for a few months now and no annoying calls have got through, only legitimate ones.
Well worth the money for all the hassle and stress that it alleviates.0 -
Questions before I buy for someone.
Does it work well without CLI?
How does it identify legitimate foreign calls?.0 -
you do need caller display to take full advantage of the unit depends on your phone network!!!whatajoke2 wrote: »Questions before I buy for someone.

it wont identify the caller from foreign country with caller ID,
but you can sent the unit so the caller has to identify them selves before it makes your phone ring they will try to conect them if they dont speek it tells them not to ring again and cuts them off, and your phone wont ring,
if the caller says anything it will make your phone ring, you here the message then you decide weather to accept to call or reject the call, it called "whisper" mode
carn't post a link as a new user so google "truecall" for Q&A's it will tell you more
hope this helps you decide
good luck0 -
have just received my truecall in the mail - let the games begin!0

This is without doubt the best piece of equipment I have ever purchased.
I have had it for about 12 months now. My Mother (who is 85) has one as well. I have set it up turning whisper off, but turning standard shield on. Now when anyone from 08 numbers or anyone who withold their number call they get a message telling them to press 5 only if they are not marketing callers.
This is very effective and has reduced the spam callers by 95% and any coldcallers who do press 5 comes through but then gets zapped so they cant ring again.
I can't recommend it highly enough0 -
have had one since it came out and recomend it to any one. Brilliant piece of kit only problem is not everyone sells it0

They work brilliantly had mine since March 2010 and not one single cold call has come through I can check online that they try. I have the sd card so I can also record calls and playback on pc for extra £25. They are expensive but I think its worth while as companies simple ignore your requests often0
